Jason you never cease to amaze us with your willingness to try... you are such an incredible person and we're all blessed to have you!! Not only do you TRY, but, from what I've seen, you succeed!! Don't ever change your true authentic self and you and Lorraine are going to SUCCEED every time!! I've watched just about every other Homestead channel and 'Sow The Land' is by far our favorite! That's why we keep coming back for more, you are so relatable and very talented. We've really learned so much from y'all guys! (See what I did there 🤔)...😂 "Y'all guys"!😂😶‍🌫️🤭

For many years I tried to get my husband to bite the bullet and get a Kubota. Once he finally did he wishes he hadn’t waited so many years. If you can afford to put this into your budget or another tractor it’s such a valuable member of the homestead. Working smarter as we get older helps preserve us so we cal also use that energy for more things. Love to you and the girls and the Hollars! I also see you the grapplers which we have and love for moving cut brush and when we cut trees down we pick them up and saw them for firewood. Kubota sells sets which we picked the grapple, brush hog, box scraper and forks.

Jason, my husband wants you to know you only need H braces at the corners and at a gate. Also when your digging the holes, stop the auger when your at the bottom of the hole and raise auger out. This prevents you from leaving so much dirt in the hole to remove. He just wanted to share his knowledge as he has been building fence for most of his adult life. God bless.

A tractor is a tool you think you don't need unril you use it. It makes so many jobs so much lighter and faster. It mows, digs holes, hauls junk, pulls out trees and posts, moves hay bales, lifts heavy loads...just to name a few. Jadon, you need a tractor to add to your tool arsenal! 😂😂😂😂😂

If you drill all the holes and put a post in or next to each hole you’ll make really good time. Less idling for the tractor, less fuel waste. Take more than one post at a time too. You need a tractor so badly. Prayers you’re able to get one sooner rather than later.

Absolutely loved watching the journey of drilling those 20 holes with the borrowed tractor! It's amazing how much more efficient and less physically demanding the task became compared to using a one-man auger. Your learning curve with the tractor and auger, plus the strategic planning for the fence and gates, was really insightful. Shoutout to Ben for lending the tractor, making the process smoother and quicker. Can't wait to see the completed fence around the property! 🚜🌳 #DIYFarmFence #TractorAdventures

Jason you mentioned about installing some gates. A full one piece 16 ft gate has a tendency to sag from weight. Maybe consider 2 8ft gates. At least from my experience it works better. I actually go a bit longer and allow for some overlap. Doing a great job on the fencing project. Scott. Alberta Canada

When I was about 15 in the late 1950s, my Vocational Agriculture teacher, Mr. Dozier, hired me and two other students to tear out an old barbed wire fence and build a new one. This was in West Texas and the fence row was filled with prickly pears and mesquite trees. In this brush there were a lot of rattle snakes. My job became checking for the snakes and killing them before we cleared the brush and removed the old fence. At the end of the job, I had more than 30 rattles.

Once upon a time (more than twenty years ago) when I really needed to fence the perimeter of our property along the highway. I spent two weeks digging holes in rocky soil. I had a lot of holes startedNd only a few posts set. Then we rented an auger on a skid steer ( this auger was on the front and had downward force) we had to do what we could in one weekend. We drilled 100 holes on rocky rooty soil in one day. We ran out of fence posts. We bought a tractor after that. If i were going to do the perimeter of a property again I would probably rent the skid steer again and use my tractor to haul gravel tools and fence posts. Enjoy the tractor and congratulations on all your progress. I have a feeling you are getting closer needing a tractor Best of luck to you and your family. 😊❤
