Digging Grade Beams,Homeowner comes up and says I want my house 1 foot higher than the neighbors

5600 square-foot house. Doing the grade beams grading the slab in preparation for rebar and concrete. Homeowner after we finish the pad came up and said I want my house 1 foot higher than the neighbors. We said no problem ,so we had to raise the dirt inside of the forms.

Was the customer concerned about flooding? Or is it some sort of competitive issue versus the neighbors for raising the house 1 ft? Thanks

Flooding was on his mind. And I think he just like the thought of being higher than the neighbors.

Honestly, if he is willing to spend the money to go higher, I respect that. Regardless of the reason.
