I think that rabbit you found in the beginning is an old Nestle's Quik rabbit. The brass button with the design is supposed to look like the traditional woven leather buttons of years ago. Great finds!

You should find the edge of the pit and work down then over into the pit. It would make it easier and keep you from breaking good finds. Just a thought

Is that big chunk of coal? Clock n watch maker might want all those gears. I like junk use to like hauling from these waste facilities to the landfill. Reminds of the movie "Armed And Dangerous" . "This place is a gold mine Frank! ".

That's funny, cause a few weeks ago, I also found a trash pit in my woods, probably late 1800's-1950's, and also found a dolls head. It was just the lower half, missing it's eyes, but had teeth that were smiling at me. Scared the Hell out of me at first! :D

My wife thinks that slim container with a top that comes out with a rod attached (around 12:30) is a perfume bottle. You put perfume in, then take out the stopper/applicator and dab some on your neck, etc. I don't know but it was her thought.

I know exactly what rifle part that was. Mattel made a Winchester rifle that you could load with a two part bullet and stick a cap on the end so it sounded extra loud when you shot it. Winchester '84 I think. Great video thanks for sharing it.

My ancestors old place 1850 has been metal detected but no great finds but there was some really deep targets that i just gave up on. I did clean out the privy and found some old whiskey bottles. i did keep those but i haven't touched the old dump there is lots of bottles every where. i might do that one this year.

I'm not for sure, but the wooden looking spindle at the end that you were unsure of what it is- I think it is an old fire starter. You pull the rod out and put a piece of tinder on the bottom of the rod; there should be a small pocket to place it in. Then you insert the rod back into the hole or sheath, but just so the end is in and the rod is pulled out like you did when you showed it to us. Then give that bip a smack down and the compression will spark the tinder and you have a fire. Like I said I'm not for sure, but that thing is cool as heck anyways.

Years ago ppl threw trash in trash piles. We did too when I was a little girl. We had the family dump in our woods . Also, ppl also threw things in their wells.. or so I saw on tv history program. Neighbors have found countless old glass bottles, which they collected in family trast dumps in the nearby woods. This was waaay back in the day before they had recycling, plastic bags, etc. Also.. I remember my grandparents would burn their trash in a barrel . Back then all this was normal to do. Today, you'd probably get a fine for illegal dumping.

I think I may have a suggestion to what the rock maybe. Im not sure what the geology of your region is but from the really quick look of the rock, it looked to be a rhyolite similar to the ones we have in Maine(possibly Maine's traveler rhyolite). In the video it seemed to have almost a glassy luster and I think maybe what you interpreted as indian workings was just conchoidal fracture.
