I was always told to have the line on the centre of dig. I tried the line on the outside one day and it was so much easier.

Oi dude I do slab bases in aus and I have to ask you, when the fark do the drains get put in on your jobs? In aus we do the base after the drains are in. I wanna swap you! Haha. Nice work mate

That's tm just the footings, I do a site scrape after that, I think they put some bigger diameter plumbing in when the concrete when they box and pour the footing then we backfill the rest wit Gravel and compact it etc, they the drain layer digs in his drainage and then on goes the steel mesh plastic etc then pour concrete for the whole slab. I used to work on the gc but never did any slabs there aye, did everything but lol

Brave guy digging alone the top of all them buried gas lines hahaha the yellow paint is not a friend that u want to see when you got to dig even tho it was used as a guide line for digging lol but I have to say that was a very nice job done

chris lun, hi yes only 300mm deep, sometimes they dont do any footings, the pad gets boxed up and poured on top called a rib-raft slab. But your right they all should be deeper!

chris lun footings in uk r metre deep dependant on soil and roots can be up to 2 metres and we use a 600 wide bucket! For 2 skins block.anf brick

They box and pour a strip footing then excavate turf and nominal depth before adding compacted gravel. Plumber and sparky do there thing before floor poured, hopefully that's clear as mud👍

Ground is usually engineered when civil contractors shape the subdivision. The ground has good bearing strength and frost and damp is minimal in New Zealand, also beam and floor reinforced with steel.
