The joy of discovery is an immensely enjoyable experience, I myself have found a great many double terminators (crystals usually found within degraded volcanic soils. best way to transport one's treasured finds is to use sawdust between the layers of crystals as they stack up in a container. 2 kilos of sawdust with do a mighty fine job of keeping every crystal separate from the other.

My family went to herkeimer NY and found herkeimer diamonds. It was our first time. My Dad ran into a gentleman selling the diamonds from a pocket he was mining. This gentleman kept pulling herkeimer diamonds out of this pocket and some were still in the matrix , Huge diamonds!!! I have never experienced such diamonds. These diamonds were the size of my fist. I didn't eat or drink the whole time I was there. My whole family was running around looking for these diamonds and it was so exciting!!!!! I totally enjoy your videos!💯😀

@priscillaross-fox94077 жыл бұрын
Murlockingqc, I forgot what they call it but Canada has a department of mining. I know I'm not exact in the words. This is where GOOGLE is a really good friend! There are so many keywords to use in searching for minerals on Google.Try www.mindat.org/ That's the first website that comes to me mind Mindat also has forums. My area of exploration was the Keweenaw Peninsula and honestly I have a bunch of books from mining to collecting but my 'bible' was Bulletin #6 which was re-done but I still like the older one and was easier to take with. Anyway, I bet there's a rockhounding group in Quebec around your area...... ask around at shops that sell mineral specimans. Rule #1 Don't go on private property without asking (getting) permission first! Rule#2 if you are going to dig holes make certain you fill them in before you leave. Rule #3 Do not leave a mess! If you brought it there, take it with you when you leave. And good luck.
