I've been pulling up a few much larger stumps with this exact same T474 tractor and I thought it was weak until I failed the weld on the top front edge of the backhoe bucket yesterday so it does have some breakout force. I've patched it for now, but I'll need to pull it off and weld it up properly in the near future. When I say larger. the tractor wouldn't pick them up once i got it out unless I has the backhoe attached. I could curl it and get it up an inch or two but I believe I'm pushing it a little too much. I love my TYM so I think I'm going to buy a Woodland Mills stump grinder in the next month or so. It's a good match for this tractor and the reason I bought the HST model. Like TYM, Woodland Mills makes good products. I own an HM130 Max sawmill and their WC88 8" chipper, from Woodland Mill and both work perfectly. Good video by the way. I've never used the float option on the loader before.

That backhoe is impressive. I am researching the 354 tractor. I cant find a lot on that model. I dont have any dealers near me, so I can't just go take a look. I will use it mostly for moving logs and firewood around. So I need a little more lifting capacity than the 264. Is the 354 not a popular model? I only have a little over an acre of property so I dont have a need for a big tractor.
@TonysTractorAdventure4 жыл бұрын
I have been to about 5 dealers in different parts of the US and I have never seen a T354. I think it is because the T394 cost only a few hundred more. I think the best value in this frame size is the T474. More HP, same frame size and not much more money. Tony
@goingoutdoorswithmatt79624 жыл бұрын
@@TonysTractorAdventure I have. Quesfion if you can answer it. I know you have the 264. Do you think it can lift a metal tote filled with oak. I know the manufacturer says it is rated to lift 1400lbs. The tote hold about 1/3 cord. So between 1400 and 2000lbs. 2000 lbs if it is not dried and freshly cut. I know the little tractor is strong.But is it that strong?

Curious... Why did you not put the bucket down as well as the stabilizers? I have a 4225R with a BH200.
@boomerau4 жыл бұрын
I open the bucket and put it down - stops back and forth movement plus you don't have the cylinders at risk like they are in this video.
@TonysTractorAdventure4 жыл бұрын
The bucket is down. I put it at an angle to hold the tractor better.
@TonysTractorAdventure4 жыл бұрын
Been doing this for a whole lot of years and never damaged a front cylinder on any tractor I have owned. If this little bit of pressure damages the loader, it would be time to look for a different brand. Having said, that, there is nothing wrong with the way you are doing it.

Great job Tony! I have the T454 Cab tractor and love it. However, the owner's manual says it uses the BY85 backhoe whereas your T474 uses the BY75 backhoe. Any idea why and what the difference is? At roughly $7500 I think it would be a great addition to my tractor provided it can work behind a cab. Keep up the great videos!
@TonysTractorAdventure3 жыл бұрын
The T454 is the same size frame tractor as the T494 and T574. It is one size bigger than the T474.
@houstonfirefox3 жыл бұрын
@@TonysTractorAdventure Got it, thanks! Strange numbering scheme from Tym. I figured a T454 is a lower number than a T474 so therefore it must be SMALLER either in engine size or frame size but apparently that isn't the case lol. Thanks again!
@rodgerneeb301 Жыл бұрын
I believe the oddity in an otherwise logical model numbering system is explained by chronological introduction. It seems the T394 and T474 are the same series 2 frame size the difference between them being the T394 has the 38 horse Yanmar, while the T474 has the 48 horse Kukje, the Kukje being adopted after the partnership with Branson which is now an outright purchase. The T494 also has the same Kukje 48 horse but the larger 3 series frame. While the T574 has the 3 series frame with the 57 horse Kukje engine, which is the same block as the 48 horse except they added a turbo, possibly turned up the injection pump too.

One thing I do like a Kubota is you can get a hydraulic thumb but it will cost $2100.
@TonysTractorAdventure3 жыл бұрын
I have never found a hydraulic or manual backhoe thumb useful. Tractor backhoes just don't have the reach or lifting capacity to justify the cost. There are many aftermarket thumbs both hydraulic and manual that will fit most all brands. I have several KZbin friends who have paid the money to have them installed. They make a few videos about how cool they are, and never use them again. A grapple on the front of a tractor is money much better spent. The grapple on a loader is made to lift and be mobile. A backhoe is not. In most cases lifting up with the backhoe without having the outriggers down, will put undo stress on the tractor and makes the front end dangerously light.

Hey Tony, tell your friends I had a 20x40 pool put in last year and we had secured the build in spring of 2019. The pool installer runs a 5 star business. Though, thanks to all the people who stayed home due to COVID we ended up not getting our first pick on the liner design. The contractor had ordered everything ahead of time and secured payment except for the liner. Though, he did try to order it early on but, due to closures at the factories that is what caused the backlog and then the inevitable mass ordering from people staying home. At least we have a pool now and will enjoy it this summer. I have written a few comments back and fourth with you about the T264. It should be delivered this week so I can begin doing the landscaping outside the pool area from last years big dig. I will video some of it to share and send you a link eventually. I think you will really enjoy what I will be doing. I have to dump a monstrous amount of sand to fill in a low area nearly the area of that pool. This is all because my side yard slopes so much and we have the pool raised several feet above the original grade. We had it done this way so rain water doesn't just flow down the slope and build tons of water around the pool area making for a soggy ground.
