Those air ride seats make a world of difference. I’ve driven a Ford L9000 with them and an International medium duty without them and you’re miserable without them. Ford makes great dump trucks and they make the best chassis’s throughout their entire truck lineup.

I work for a county road dept. All of our dump trucks and semi's as well as most of our equipment have air ride seats. They are nice when you spend all day in them, but man can they be a pain in the butt. Most of our air leaks develop in the seat. We have one of the those Ford F750's at my shop. It's set up as a flatbed with a dump bed on it. In the fall and winter we put our chip box on it and use it as our chip truck. It hauls about 12 yards of chips with no issue, plus it pulls our chipper. Ours has hydraulic brakes though which I hate. There is no Park on those trucks. It's Neutral with the parking brake set. If you let anyone drive it, or move it make sure they know the parking brake must be set. Might not be as big of an issue for you since you have air brakes but in ours we've had some people forget to set the parking brake. Ever see a bunch of county road works running after their truck?

@@reggieanderson885 Don't know exactly. I was driving on the interstate when it suddenly started clattering horribly. I got pulled over onto the shoulder and got it turned off. Got out to look underneath expecting to find oil and engine parts on the ground underneath, but nothing. Got back in and tried to crank it over and it was locked up solid. Had it towed to the dealer and they told me that it was quite common on the detuned 450-550 6.7L for the lower half to go, but he didn't elaborate. It was fixed under warranty, so I didn't care other than I was without the truck for a little over 3 weeks while they messed with it. The truck had a Swaploader hooklift hoist and was my only truck and was what I used for my dumpster business, so was out of business for 3 weeks with cans scattered around town at customer's properties and no way to move them and a lot of unhappy customers to deal with. The rear end (differential) also went out on that truck at 62k and was not covered under warranty, so I had lots of issues with that truck. Happiest day was the day I found someone to buy the truck with just over 100k miles on it. Had about $110k in building the truck and only got $20k for it, so NOT a happy ownership experience.

I have a 6.4 in my ford f350 flat bed and I have heard so many horror stories about em but not as bad as the 6.0. Once I got it second hand, I noticed that everything was deleted from it like all the emissions and it had a retune on it. What a world of difference! I have a buddy who has the 6.7 and he had issues with it after 80,000 with the emissions then he deleted it, put turbo upgrade on it and had it retuned. Now it’s running fine. I had a diesel mechanic tell me that ford uses the same engine across all there super duty lines and even tho the horsepower is different its the same engine. Just geared differently , my advice would be to look into getting that truck deleted and retuned to stock numbers or maybe even a little bit more power than stock. It seems to me after everyone started to go with this emission crap 💩 diesels lost their reputation. The Cummins bulletproof engine 5.9l, they ruined it with the 6.7 until deleted, the 7.3 again another bulletproof engine, ruined it with the 6.0, 6.4, 6.7 again all of them were perfectly safe and fine unless you delete them. Thats just my opinion though throughout the years of owning them and asking my friends that own em too. Just figured I pass the information along I hate to see that beautiful truck sit. Very cool! 😎

Many areas of the country, the propane is much less expensive, and there is "Renewable Propane" in some locations. Many cities are buying the gas version, to save on purchase cost, but don't really care much about the cost of the gasoline. Depends on the miles you run every month.

I agree that a F-650 could get slightly higher MPG, and will have a overall lower GVW, so you can carry more at a given GVW, but the F-750 will have a 33,000 GVWR, while the F-650 is 26,000 or a class C license 25,999 pounds. Joseph Andrew it is with this truck. You can get one just like this with hydraulic brakes and rated at 26,000 that doesn’t require cdl.

Greate truck but i think with such short wheelbase like that it will be very dangerous to drive in snow and ice.
