I have watched your videos for a while, I have found them very informative and entertaining. At 72 years old, I have stared my owen business. I picked up an excavator and trailer, when the time is right I will get me a tracked mini loader. Keep on posting your videos

1st off i enjoy your videos and am picking up on your advice,, lol. Slowly, I'm new to Dumptrucks and spreading gravel ect. I have a f550 with a landscape bed on it I load about 5 tons at a time to spread, my question is the bed is hydraulic/electric and doesn't go up or down quick like yours, and it doesnt have that apron on it, any tips on tailgate spreading that might make it a little easier and more professional, I'm a retired Man who got into this work to keep this ole Man busy, I would really appreciate any input to ease the pain, lol, Happy Easter to You and Your Family, I understand this is a older post but thought I would try anyhow

I have a tiny 27 horse farm tractor and a tiny 3900 lb excavator. My flat bed trailer can hold up to 5,900 lb. I'm having a hard time getting trenching work but I'm getting all kinds of post hole work. I guess at least one of the tractors is making money. Any ideas on how to get the excavator to work?

How do you come up with the hourly figure for your machine? Is it daily rental price/hour+operator wage+fuel consumption with a 10-15% markup?
@DigginLife214 жыл бұрын
It mostly depends on the job itself. I now own my machine and I charge between $1250 and $1800/ 8 hours of operating time
@RiverValleyAcres4 жыл бұрын
@@DigginLife21 yeah that’s about right. I always heard to base price off rental prices for flat rate daily work. It’s nice owning your own equipment you can take the extra money and use for maintenance work on the machine.
