My daddy always used STP for all his engine repairs… wrist pins, cylinder walls, crank bearings… you name he lubed it. Between WD40, STP and Marvel Mystery Oil… he could make anything slip, LOL Ohhh.. and he swore by Barrs Stop Leak for fixing radiators. It always worked for him.. So… I do the same. As to my success… sometimes it even works for me! Keep wrenching… I’m gonna go watch you toss in the crank!

Another good video from the US based Neuss certified repair facility. I'd have the rings upside down and backwards.

Frank, I put a bypass oil filter on it. I suggest that you look into that idea. When I sold the truck it had 1,128,000 & we’d never been inside it.

I'm glad the engine in my 450C John Deere is in great shape. Doesn't smoke, leak, or burn oil at all. I'll be pulling logs with it tomorrow.

I believe the “bean” counters have a lot to do with how things are engineered.

I've been following this build and I like the way you work. I also like those snap ring pliers. I have spent a small fortune on snap ring pliers and haven't found any that are any good yet. Would you mind sharing the brand name/model with me?

Good video frank! How long do you think it will be before you get that dozer put back together? I still can't believe you were able to tear that machine down at that level and somehow put it back together
@Digginok

Hopefully a couple weeks it will be together, I'm knee deep in the transmission at the moment.

If you think that's good you should watch western truck and tractor...he's just torn down three cat dozers and put them back together all while doing multiple inframes on trucks fixing 3 tractors an off-road fork truck inframing 2 pickup trucks pulling an engine out of an fiat allis wheel loader and rebuilding it and doing many call outs too......he is super human...

If bean counters let engineers off the leash then every piece of equipment would cost a million dollars - just saying - life is always about trade-offs.
