Don't feel too bad about finding the cross, I was told years ago when you go to the beach not to wear your good rings and jewelry because you might lose them. Congrats, Christine, on a beautiful gold crucifix! 👍🏼. Your find reminded me of my best crucifix find some years ago at a park in Pasadena. It was staring at me on top of a gopher dirt mound before I swung my detector over it lol.....Hint: never pass up a gopher mound at any park...I have found so many coins (silver and wheaties too)/artifacts (and junk) from the dug up gopher dirt. Gophers are a treasure hunter’s friend!!

Hi you two, Great to see you out hunting again. That Gold cross has got to be worth at least 3 cupcakes hehe. Did my 1st tot lot this morning found 79 pence in change "sterling" as i'm in the UK. Found the usually suspects bottle tops, ring pulls, screws nails and bits of wire. Only out for 2 Hrs. Still looking for my 1st ring of the year :(

Thanks.... we don't really use it in the wet. It has done ok but I don't think with would work well in the surf. Has not been an issue because C really likes working the dry. We should do a test run in the surf with it just to try.

A tourist was feeding seagulls here the other day and I thought all the locals were going to hang the poor guy. We purposely don't feed our seagulls so that they don't get aggressive and bother people with food. When I lived in CA, gulls attacked me while carrying a tray of food at Sea World and knocked all the food onto the ground. 😞 My poor hungry little boys just watched from the picnic table. Thankfully, the vendor saw what happened and replaced all the food. MAN, those gulls hit that tray like bombs falling out of the sky.
