I was confused about the RIMS piece. The heaters? I thought it stood for Recirculating Infusion Mash System. The Brewzilla has a re-circulation arm and silicon tube that pumps the wort over the mash bed and permeates the grains. For a 3V system the pump outlet can recirculate the wort during mashing. No malt pipe required, just false bottom and Mash Tun?

The whole setup looks amazing, especially the build in heating elements. And looks like this system can do double batch at the same time, batch 1 in BK and batch 2 in MLT, right?

I used to have a similar set up in 57L/15 gallon kettles on hellfire burners. I now use my all in one. This system is very ...uh ... cute. It's also very clean. How do you run all 3 vessels without blowing a circuit?
@KegLand2 жыл бұрын
You need quite a bit of power to run all 3V. It's easy for people outside of Australia but due to America being 110V you have a significant power limitation. I assume you are in America right?
@Leadership_matters2 жыл бұрын
@@KegLand yah. That makes sense. I should have been an electrician so I could wire up the whole house.
@MichaelMcGlashan4 ай бұрын
Can you just have 2 vessels? Using the hlt as a kettle. Once the hlt has heated water to strike temperature. And it has been transferred to the mash tun. Then it is just sitting there? If I’ve missed something please let me know.

Well I think I'll build this package instead of 2 x 65L Gen 4 Brewzillas. Extra extender on the mash and 2 on the kettle, should give about 100L Shouldn't it? Are the pump hangers and laser cut labels not available yet Kee?
@KegLand2 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you use two extensions you will be approximately 100L boil size. We are putting the pump hangers on the website now so they should be visible very soon.

The elements on these digiboil are they controllable like the brewzilla so that you don't overshoot your mash steps? i.e. Ramp down the power as it gets to temp
@KegLand Жыл бұрын
You need a power controller in additon to the digiboil to control the element power. You have a couple switches on the digiboil but this controller gives you more ability to control the power: www.kegland.com.au/2400w-power-station-240v-power-controller.html

You've got that totally wrong with the pump , 3.5 m of head means it can pump up hill 3.5 m at the diameter of the outlet so not much weight at all even if you were correct about suction ,which you aren't either no such thing as suction only vacuum which lowers pressure and the higher atmospheric will push fluid down , but these aren't vacuum pumps anyway they are only gravity fed and if your grain bed is blocked the impeller will just spin ( just like an electric whisk in a cup of water ) and pumping will cease !
@KegLand Жыл бұрын
It might be worth looking at these pictures here: cdn.homebrewtalk.com/data/attach/502/502618-fb1.JPG We see this type of thing happen frequently and have seen many false bottoms absolutely collapse due to suction from the pump.
@PetraKann2 жыл бұрын
Where did you get the 400kg ? 3.4m equates to 33,320 Pa Each digiboil contains 65L or about 65Kg of liquid.
@KegLand2 жыл бұрын
The diameter of the 65L Digiboil (and therefore the valse bottom) is almost 40cm in diameter. Although centrifugal pumps are generally not designed for good suction, once they are fully primed they can suck almost as hard as they can push so if you look at the 40cm diameter and 3.4m head this is enough suction to crush many of the weaker false bottom designs. For instance we have the 30cm Domed false bottom which is a cheap alternative and the pump can crush this false bottom if you get a stuck mash ontop of this one for this reason
@PetraKann2 жыл бұрын
@@KegLand The diameter is not relevant to the head which is only dependent on the height of fluid above the suction inlet of the pump and the density of the fluid (and the gravitational force which is a constant). A lake with 63 Trillion litres of water in it but has a maximum depth of 1 m, will have the same head at the bottom as a back yard swimming pool with 1m depth. I still don't know where the 400 kg figure comes from. Engineers need the calculations as well as the equations used.

Would a 10w to 15w splitter box work for enough power?
@KegLand2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can do that too. If you do that then you just have to keep one of the elements turned off so you are not drawing above 2400watts. You also could technically disconnect the element wiring and replace the unit with a 10amp cord too.
