Hi all! Someone knows what the ON PLAY skill does? It works anytime on the player turn, when evolved and played from the hand or only when played from the hand and one time?

"Play" is actually a term used in this game to describe "hard cast" and "summon", instead of the generic action of using a card. So [On Play] would only trigger if you play it from your hand (by paying the play cost or by an effect), from the trash, from your Digimon's digivolution cards, or any effects which has the word "play". So it does not include moving out from the breeding area during breeding phase, and digivolving.

For the case ST6-16, if I only have 1 Lv3 in trash, can I activate and resolve the effect?

Yes, regardless of whether or not there is any "up to", you resolve as much as possible. Meaning if you have only 1 level 3 and no level 4, you can still play that level 3.

If I have 0 security left, can I still play blinding ray? I played in a tournament Saturday and they told me I couldn’t. Similarly, if I have 0 security, will my yellow wargreymon still be able to unsuspend and minus 6000 on a Digimon?

Yes, you may play blinding ray even without any security, but you may not use Wargreymon's when attacking effect. Blinding Ray's effect says "Trash the top card of your security stack. Then, gain 2 memory." So for effects which has such a sentence structure, both should be treated as effects. Even though there is a "Then", however you are not required to perform the first part in order to perform the second. (Ref: Detailed Rules > Effects separated with "Then"). A lot of people have the misconception that the front part of the text is the condition (which is why they probably didn't allow you to do so in the tourney), but it isn't. As for Wargreymon, the card text is worded as "do XXX to do YYY", hence you have to do the first part if you want to do the second part.

So rush only applies on newly played digimon and no digievolution? e.g if i digievolve a digimon without rush into one with rush cant attack right? but if i play it through it memory cost it can isnt it?

Actually, as long as the Digimon has Rush, it can attack the turn it was played, regardless of whether or not it has any digivolution cards. Let's say it's your turn and you have 4 memory. You play a BT2 DemiDevimon for 2 memory, then digivolve it into a BT6 Ginkakumon Promote for another 2 memory. You can now attack, since Ginkakumon Promote has Rush. In the end, what matters is the state of the card at that moment - whether or not it has Rush at the time you want to declare an attack.

Hi, Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, I have a concern with UlforceVeedramon BT2-032. If the player owner of UlforceVeedramon (BT2-032) has two Matt Ishida (BT1-086) on his/her Battle Area and play a Blue Digimon: Can the player choose to activate only one Matt Ishida (BT1-086) or does the player has play both at the same time, or the the player choose either one or two? If the opposite player has no Digimon on his/her Battle Area or has one or more Digimon with no Digivolution Sources to trash, can the player owner of UlforceVeedramon still Suspend Matt Ishida (BT1-086), even he/she cannot trash Digivolution Sources? Thank you in advance for you your help!!!

Hey sorry for the late reply, just saw this. Basically you can choose whether or not you want to suspend Matt Ishida. So you can choose to only suspend one of them first. Then the next time you play another Digimon at that turn, you can suspend the other Matt Ishida (even if the memory has crossed to the opponent's side coz it's counted as activated once you play a Digimon) to unsuspend your Ulforce again. Also you can suspend Matt even if there are no Digimon on your opponent's side, as long as you fulfill the criteria of playing a digimon.

Lets say the stack is dandevimon, lillithmon, devilmon, demidevimon(promo), pagumon. This stacks attack security and dies. Can I use the effect of demidevimon to call back the dandevimon who just attacked? (as long as there is seven "devimon" card in the trash?)

Yes, you should be able to. But be sure to get your opponent to trash their cards via DanDevimon's effect first. If DanDevimon gets played first, you won't be able to activate it's [On Deletion] effect coz it's no longer in the trash.

Hi, how about if jyagamon declaring attack and it successfully evolve to Lv6 by its effect, when it timing for that Lv6 digimon to activate its when digivolve effect ya?

If it is a when digivolving effect (eg. Nidhoggmon), it should trigger after all the when attacking effects resolve, just like the Garurumon scenario, because it triggered after all when attacking effects. If it digivolves into Pinocchimon (when attacking, gain 1 memory), that effect will miss timing, even though it is a when attacking effect, because Pinocchimon wasn't on the field during the attack declaration.

How about if jyagamon evolve to Megagargomon, evolution bonus(draw 1 card) will apply immediately when it evolve ? It will become draw 1 card first then wait all effects resolved then only activate when digivolve effect?

@@mjyee5035 yes. Draw 1 always occurs right after digivolving. Then resolve all when attacking effects, before resolving any when digivolving effects.

Yes exactly. Even if it has attacked that turn, it doesn't change the fact that it is a card that was just played. So even if you digivolve into Chaosmon, it can only restand but not attack.

Can you clarify how the "on play" effect works. Still confused on when it works and when it doesn't.

On play only works when you play a card. So in this game, "play" is an action, which is similar to hard casting/hard summoning a card. If you play it from the hand, you have to pay the play cost on the top left of the card. This action would trigger [On Play] effects. Other than that, effects that "play a card" (as written on the card text) from digivolution cards or trash would also proc [On Play] effects, unless it specifies that it won't activate (like BT2 Piedmon, or ChaosGallantmon). Other actions (like digivolution, moving out of the breeding area, de-digivolving into the on play effect Digimon) will not trigger it.

Nope. It won't trigger from anything outside of from playing from hand and being played by effects which says "play" in the card text. Digivolving is digivolving. It is not "playing a card", hence it uses the digivolution cost, not the play cost.

Question. For De-Digivolve in English it says "or becomes a level 3 digimon" what if you target a digimon that is already lvl 3? Also, how does di-digivolve work on Level 3's that have a Skull greymon under it?

I think it's a poor choice of words on Bandai's part. The Japanese card text also says "becomes a level 3", however Carddass has clarified that de-digivolve would not work on level 3 Digimon, even if it technically does not become a level 3.

they need a white guy at bandai tcg overlooking these translations because a lot of the cards translations are confusing to me. like the wording is weird.. like the BT7 Gomamon, (on play) "When played from digivolution cards, Draw 2" im interpreting it as: (when digivolving) draw 2 and then BT8 angemon says "when you would digivolve" instead of "when digivolving" ... its the lack of consistency that bothers me

I do agree the text might need a little time getting used to tho. But generally card text in this game is very specific, and I would say they're kinda like computer commands. A lot of words which looks like layman words in the card text are actually specific keywords. The most common culprit is "play", where it actually describes the act of "summoning" or "casting" rather than the "play" general TCG players are used to. Tho I think these things won't be changed in the future, so I guess we have to familiarize ourselves with the glossary document.

Nope. Security Digimon can only trigger Security effects.
