best thing about digimon is that even the truest of fans can't name every single digimon even if they tried. there's so many recolors and absolutely garbage evolution lines that there's no tracking how many total digimon there are. it's a glorious mess

You have recolored versions of other Digimon, like Weedmon, then you have fake versions of other Digimon, like NiseDrimogemon, then you have fake versions of alternate versions, like Fake Agumon Expert, then you have anime-exclusive alternate versions like Red Greymon, then you have alternate forms created by localization, like Sistermon Ciel, then you have alternate versions that appear in only a single game, like DotFalcomon, then you have minor variations of Digimon that are never really called out, like how Sukamon sometimes has Chuumon and sometimes doesn't, then you have alternate versions of alternate versions of alternate versions, like Omnimon Zwart Defeat. Creating a conclusive list is basically impossible, and attempting to will cause multiple fights over what should count and what shouldn't.

It's great hearing Karina try to explain the nonsense that is digivolution, and even better having the others struggle to apply logic where there is none. Digimon World 3 taught me early on that this is a reality where a dinosaur with a mullet can team up with a completely normal grizzly bear to become a fully robotic wolf. In this case there would be two worlds, the Sensitive World (Also called the Physical World or Material World) and the Intelligible World (Also called the Realm of Forms or World of Ideas). In the Intelligible World there would be the true form of everything, the immutable perfection. These things were called Forms. Meanwhile in the Sensitive World there would only be imperfect simulations of what actually existed. For example a bird, birds of our world evolve, grow old, die, etc. They change over time. But in the Intelligent World there would be the Bird Form that would never change.In this case Forms would exist beyond the limitations of our Physical World. A Form is aspatial (transcendent to space) and atemporal (transcendent to time). Atemporal means that it does not exist within any time period, rather it provides the formal basis for time. It therefore formally grounds beginning, persisting and ending. It is neither eternal in the sense of existing forever, nor mortal, of limited duration. It exists transcendent to time altogether. Forms are aspatial in that they have no spatial dimensions, and thus no orientation in space, nor do they even (like the point) have a location. Thus the universals according to Plato would be the Forms (also called Ideas). There are cats, dogs, humans, birds, etc. in our world and although everyone is different they must also share characteristics in common. These characteristics would be unique (In this case, in its simplest sense, there are not many Red things but only one Form of Redness), in this case the Universals, and they would exist in a world that is superior to ours. Everything has a Form even that which limits our existence would have a Form. In this case the Form of Space and the Form of Time would be atemporal and aspatial. Basically the world at the begining was called "Idea" a primordial chaotic void without order. In it two ideas/ideologies fought(hence why it was chaotic and without order as there were no established laws) the idea of light wich in Neoplatonic Emanationism means Life,Existence,Evolution and all positive feelings such as Knowledge,Friendship,Courage etc and the Idea of Darkness(wich is the lack of goodness) wich means Death,Nothingness,Non-existence,Nihility,Stagnation and the negative feelings such as the Seven Deadly Sins wich makes one closer to Evil, and the very essence of the "Idea to not evolve" and "the idea that rejects evolution"(basically Apocalymon's true form). In the midst of this chaos some deity created the Demiurge, who unkowing of it's own existence, nor that of the soul, nor of Idea created its own world. The world he created was but a shadow of Idea. This is Demiurge creating the physical world wich is just an imperfect copy of Idea. Later after the Idea of Light won and the Idea of Darkness was banished beyond the "Wall of Fire" it is known that the order arose in Idea, which divided it between the World of Darkness and World of Light. The interaction between Idea and the Physical World would generate the various interpretations of humans about the true nature of Idea, which would eventually correspond to these interpretations allowing all of them to be real in some way. In this way multiple worlds representing interpretations of Idea ended up appearing. -World of Darkness: It is the side of Idea that represents death, nothingness and negative feelings. This side consists of such things as sins, malice, erasure, and the like. It is what resembles the original form of Idea the most being a primordial void without order. Worlds like the Dark Area and the Dark Ocean are part of the World of Darkness. -World of Light: It is the side of Idea that corresponds to life and positive emotions. By the human interpretation of this world, it has already had several forms including the Digital World. -Digital World: It is the current interpretation of the World of Light being a cause of distortions between worlds being very well noticed through electronic devices which led to the interpretation that such distortions would be computer bugs and souls would be computer viruses that would be spreading through the network. Digimon here existed in this higher dimension and trough distortions between worlds came to the Human World in ancient times being the reason for all the legends,mythologies and "supernatural and pshychic phenomena". They used to be yokai,demons,seirei(spirits) that manifested trough magic or sorcery or shikigami subjugated trough onmyodo in Japan. Now this manifestation takes place trough Digital gadgets leading to us seeing them as "digital monsters" but they are beings from another dimension that have always been with us. Ethereal beings that have become tangible and visible through digital means.And more importantly the inhabitants of the higher worlds(Digimon) are the souls/part of the souls of those in the lower worlds. The Digimon are the other half of their partners souls/their other selves. Digimon and Humans are partners as in "soul partners". And the Digital World is hierarchically superior to the Human World and existed before it. The Digital Worlds have an existence that transcends and errodes reality and stand at a higher structural level/are a superior structure to the point it encompasses the Human World. All analog human worlds are scattered around in the middle of the Digital World and are thought to interfere with it at different times with different points of view.Therefore, it seems highly likely that they perceive the Digital World differently depending on the world. The Digital Worlds are also infinite and are operated and managed by multiple servers. Also Data in Digimon =/=Data as we know it in real life. Data was stated in S1 by Gennai to be the equivalent of Quantum particles (atoms and molecules and is even stated as electron-like in the Xros Wars manga). In the same manga the Royal Knight Duftmon states that the 1's and 0's of Digital data can be expressed as matter and energy. In Cyber Sleuth the Eaters(ultradimensional/hyperdimensional beings) have to induce Digital Shift turning reality to data(making lower dimensional space more complex) to manifest into the lower worlds(something the Digimon must also do, where they convert the Human World to data or it happens that there is a big enough hole in the Dimensional Wall that keeps the worlds separated and the worlds and their properties intermingle turning the Human World to data and leading to distorted regions where the worlds overlap) making even the mind and the soul data. Everything in the Digital World and in the converted human world is data(minds,bodies,souls,space,time,reality,past,present,future wich exist simultaneously in Yggdrasill's DW,concepts,atoms,molecules,matter,energy etc).

The annoying thing about Diapenmon is that the season the evolutionary parts consist of are legendary warriors who suppose to have fusions that take up parts of the individual materials to make a new one. Diapenmon didn't appear in the anime where these Digimon were introduced and obviously the Digimon that make Diapenmon weren't designed with fusion in mind. About three of the other Digimon of its group have fusions that look exactly as they suppose to look when they fuse. I suggest watching the video all 32 Hybrid-Level Digimon where you see the lore and these fusions like Diapenmon and how they look compared to the two Digimon that came before it that make up it's materials.
