Just throwing it out there, Digipanda did a great narrated version of chapter 1 all the parts shout out to that

One thing that I most hate about Digimon Seekers was that they decided to use amazing ideas and concepts, like being a mature story, exploring the digital side of Digimon, crack team, d-brigate, prototypes, etc, but do this for a format that didn't worked for it, not just because that most of people wouldn't care, but because of the web novel format and its length there was too little space to explore all of these ideias at its maximum potential, making things for example the prototype and pulsemon already have their mega forms unlocked and only them and a little of their perfect forms appear, or brigadramon that is this new super cool commandramon mega only appears for one chapter part and doesn't do much, or ryudamon that is one of the prototypes but the only thing he does is lost a battle and that is it. And we couldn't explore more of these ideas like more crack team Digimon, more d-brigate Digimon like darkdramon, more Royal Knights or just more moments with its main characters like eiji or leon. For me, one of the biggest wastes of Digimon's potential

While it had a very rough start, overall the story was very intriguing and entertaining, I honestly wouldn’t mind a sequel story set in the same continuity, but maybe following different characters; there are a number of background hints and information presented.. as well as the very nature of the Firewall itself that allows for a huge variety of stories in the “GrIMM” universe.

Great video as always. I heard a lot of bad media about seekers, and you summed up the whole project very well in 11 mins. It looks great, but suffers from digimon's lack of effort or forward thought in many areas

I was pretty frustrated with Seekers when it came out. So much to that it was the the last drop of motivation I needed to accept I had to write some sort of original fanfic digimon story. However, this video makes me want to wait for someone to do a dramatic retelling of Seekers on YT - something actually pleasant to engage with, as a study case. Now that I think about it, Cory, wouldn't you be interested in doing? Something like Comicstorian, or just a general story breakdown and analysis? I'd be very down to listen to you!

It was the prose for me. Not only the clear automatic translation issues (even though they did seem to be reviewed by a human later?) but that fact that you can't tell who is talking to who 50% of the time, or that sometimes they just... narrate the same thing a character just said out loud. Maybe it works better as audio, but I don't know. Otherwise, the story wasn't actually bad at all, even though the premise and tone aren't exactly my cup of tea. I really liked Chapter 4.

Man. Seekers was weird. Like you I loved the more adult approach to Digimon, but I lost interest in it quickly. My main problem being the drip feeding. Would have preferred a finish project or at least larger parts released. I kinda wish I stuck with it as I like what I read, eh, I might go back and read all of it at some point. On that last point where you were talking about a narrated podcast with a bit of production put into it. I was actually doing that for a bit at the start. Unfortunately, life just got busy, and I put it down.

@twarnold149 ай бұрын
Without going into spoilers, I thought the ending could have been better. We are getting an epilogue, and, unfortunately, Seekers feels incomplete without it (which isn’t the job of an epilogue). Part 3 was certainly the most interesting part though, and I found that so fascinating that I had a hard time caring about Eiji afterward. It also didn’t help that part 1 is so awkwardly translated that his personality and relationships established then don’t feel properly set up. Like, there were parts of step 4 where it seemed like they were doing a callback to part 1 that didn’t come through the translation to me.

@gregorythestallion29845 ай бұрын
I might give digimon seekers a try, I like the design of the main digimon, which is a big factor to me when trying to approach digimon stuff. Sadly, chapter one, even with a fixed translation, felt so stale, boring and a repetition of what we have to always do. We always have to reintroduce them, we have to rediscover digimon, re explain them, re retcon, and I haven't read further more yet, but im sure the digital world is about to expload (and probably the real world too) like every weekend. The MC felt quite.m boring to me, and the fact that the first chapters try so hard to sell me on how poooooor he is but he is actually smaaaart felt so annoying. And my main thing with digimon seekers is if digimon are actual characters. Something I always hated about digimon is how they are just tools. They are villain, they are partners they are whatever the plot needs, but they almost never become fully realized characters like the human, especially if they are partner digimon. So, I always feel there is a huge disconnect with "digimon are real and they are sentient" with what the writers (or gameplay) actually use them for.

I mentioned before last year when Ghost game concluded that Seekers was going to be a huge letdown one way or another. Seekers should have been an anime or a sequel to Ghost Game anime have taken the spot instead of Great Mission which after 46 episodes just still feels bland as hell and its the same slow pace as Ghost game when it comes to the more important story beats. I am growing tired of such slow crawl storytelling from a either a story such as Seekers and the show Great Mission that promotes the vital bracelet while everything else just feels generic. Because of this, there is nothing to make it stand out instead of just having another Digimon Series like we should have to fill the void last year and the Seekers format doesn't make logical sense as the next step in digimon storytelling when told the way it was with not much care put into it.
@TheDiscoGenre9 ай бұрын
Part of me feels Adventure 2020's misuse of Omegamon and early as hell Ultimate/Perfects made everything related to the Vital Bracelet obnoxiously slow to the point where most big story beats don't feel satisfying. Tamers and Savers/Data Squad accelerated to Perfects/Ultimates in the early 10s and managed to be reasonable shows. Even Frontier with Beast Spirits were reasonably handled.

A "complete review of Digimon Seekers" posted before Seekers actually ends. What time travel trickery is this? Not that 1 chapter will likely make a difference, but still kinda weird to act like "all but the last page" is somehow "complete". Especially when it does end in just a few days, anyway.
