I quite like young hunters, but for Xros Wars, my hatred mostly came from Taiki, I just don't like a Gary-stu character is all. I wouldn't care if it wasn't Digimon series that always excelled in making well-rounded characters with relatable personalities, which was ahead of their time since most of the mainstream animes at that time made a bunch of Gary-stu/Heroic characters. But somehow, as the mainstream animes industry finally learn to make well-rounded characters, Digimon somehow regressed into making a Gary-stu trope character like Taiki. Like, seriously, that one Akari episode where she slashed Lilithmon's face after breaking control from Lilithmon's exploitation of her anxiety and insecurities gave her character development more than Taiki in the entirety of Xros Wars. It wouldn't be such a problem if they didn't make Taiki the protagonist and shoved Taiki to your face 90% of the time. But, I will say this, Xros Wars have the best world-building in the entire Digimon series which almost made me endure Taiki, almost.

A few reasons. A slightly disjointed plot, Taiki/Mikey being a little Gary Stu, but the biggest problem is it threw the "Balance" System of the Digital World out the window. The standards of Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, Mega, "Ultra", all thrown out the window. Certain Xros Forms could beat a Mega one episode and struggle against a Champion or Ultimate, and often. This was especially clear in the Big Death Stars (AKA Generals of Darkness 2nd Cour) arc. Of course, while this is *semi* true in the lore that digimon were a giant series of Rock Paper Scissors, it was never THAT extreme. The whole Boy Hunters season was a disjointed episodic mess, where the only memorable episodes remain the "Xros-Over" (Heh) Episodes with the prior season stars. This is because these were the only episodes where there was a feeling of 'consistency' and 'coherence' to that plot, and the hype generated by the crossovers themselves with prior seasons. The big one however remains how it took the balance system to the meat grinder. It really is a shame too, the world definitely was interesting considering it was kinda like a post-Myotismon scenario from 01 where the Digital World had been warped into a clearly unnatural state for the sake of balance. But it just fell flat on so many notes.

I really love that some parts in this song are related to the former digimon-openings. (such as: "...like a BUTTER-FLY", "....dark TARGET", "DIGITAL DREAMER" and they also wrote "HIRARI" in Katakana, like they did in the Savers OP, but I don't know if it has the ame meaning here...)

yep, the "flames of youth" from the opening stanza refer to fire/frontier, but there are some other lines too: "choosen/destined partners" refer to the choosen children from adventure, and the opening line mentioning "the wings that pierce through time" is a nod to the name of the series "the hunters who lept through time" (which also refers to the past heroes reunion), while the last stanza talking about "super stars" together with the clear "boiling (tagiru) heart" line are a reference to hunters as a whole, but specifically about tagiru's dreams and ambitions

They defeated Bagramon with X7Superior Mode, which was made with every single fucking digimon outside of Bagra himself, however, the rules of hunters, that were actually made because of Quartzmon, won't allow a single hunter to use more than 2 digimons in a single xros, with 4 hunters they could make x7, but not superior mode, with the amount of vandemons they needed someone as strong (or stronger) as x7 but being outnumbered they used smaller xroses, which is why they were defeated

Die Story war ganz gut und es gab tatsächlich auch ein paar Digis die mir vom aussehen her gefallen haben, allerdings meiner Meinung nur verunstaltet wurden durch dieses "Evo System" dort. Ich finde nicht wirklich das man hätte Digimon in Maschinen machen sollen... vor allem bei so Digimon wie Gumdramon und Dorulumon.

I do agree. I think it was fine when they did the Monster-of-the-week to start off with (which was more or less a "gathering the team" thing) and then when the main plot looked like it was going to occur (during the Volcadramon episode involving Kiriha and the others), they went back to the MOTW which wasn't the best move. There was things I liked about it and things I hated. Especially how a lot of those digimon only got to be seen once, never appearing for the final battle.

I'm glad to have the lyrics with Kanji here, so thank you for those, but I'm sad that there are a mistake in the lyrics. I hope you don't think bad of me for telling you the mistakes. In the second phrase it's not "Honoo Konji" but "Ima tsuginaru" In the second paragraph the forelast phrase starts with "Yuganda" and not "Hizunda" In the third paragraph the last phrase is "Habatakou" and not "Hane batakou" In the fifht paragrahp the third phrase starts with "Jikuu" and not "Toki" On another note why is "Kizuna Tsunagi Kokoro awase Tobidasou Miraie" in the lyrics you provided if it's not in the song itself? I don't hear it at least
