There are quite alot of pieces of media that take inspiration from psychology and religion. One that comes to mind quickly is elder scrolls series where they use it alot. Talos, the once man but now god of mankind, literally became god because people started worshipping him after his death. In morrowind, dagoth ur reached anti-chim, after death, rather then coming to the understanding that he is part of the allmother (the collective of the universe), he dreamed that the allmother was part of him, and that he was literal god. And he woke into existence in mundus (physical world) as god, and people worshipped him, and he became god absolute. First, he worshipped himself to be god with his massive ego that he singlehandedly became god, and then others believed him. Highly recommend btw.

I found your view of the web and its spider interesting, but I do have another angle on it. I don’t see it as only a spider web but as a tool that is more similar to us. For we as being birth incomplete from the womb we are molded in to quimeras and the web as mirrors that as well, being an intermingle of intermingled, be theme the web of a spider, barbed wire, roads, the net of a fisherman, the lines of a cloth or the connections of your neurons that are ever changing to the needs of its surroundings and united into one. It is as you said about the anima a manifestation of the unity of strings, but depending on the spot that you look at or if you look at all of it you’ll see that it reflects about that micro or macro cosmos.

Funnily, I recently finished a game called Raging Loop which touched on the Jungian idea of the spider as Great Mother, and the immediate reaction being the archetype seems more fitting of an evil temptress. Further, the spider is very rarely regarded with reverence. Even the snake which scares us on a primal level is regarded as wise. And this game originally came out about 5 years ago. Maybe this meme had been lingering on the periphery of consciousness for some time.

Arachne was a victim. Anansi was a trickster. Charlotte was wise beyond her years. And Spider-Man is the hero with no happy ending. The animals themselves give us the heebie-jeebies more often than not. But there's no telling where the spider, as a character, will end up. I like how they trap and filter the negative; we're allies against flies and mosquitoes. They do their thing, I'll do mine.

This almost makes me feel like this Devouring Mother archetype exists in both actual, Devouring Mother archetypical women & what I'd call the "Erasing Father" archetypical man, who even though they're at odds with each other on personal & very obvious political levels, combine to create a society together which uses everyone's Anima while repressing them, creating Devouring Mother type environments that are the greatest reflection of that Archetype that could ever exist because at the end of the day, you have to fear the society & or country you were born into because, well - the Spider doesn't care about the Web, it cares about using that Web to eat - and young people know that the older people around them have been lost to that & so can't trust their parental figures, peers or even themselves because it takes so long to see the alternatives.

@akirakramer89374 жыл бұрын
Ok, question. I noticed a seeming distinction between the archetype of the spider and the web. The spider is a devouring, predatory force but the web itself is a tool, unbound to the spider. The mother does not strangle her prey alone, but casts the net upon them. Connectivity facilitates predation, but the two are non-synonymous. By this logic, is it possible hypothetically to liberate the web from its matriarch and, as a web with no spider becomes a path for the once-prey, transform the World Wide Web into the “information superhighway” that it was always intended to be?
@zZhashashin7z3 жыл бұрын
The Web exists only by the mechanics of addiction, there can be no web without the Spider keeping it alive, it's up to the single user to not get caught. Think of every major website active now, from Facebook to Google, to Tik Tok, they all work by the same mechanic, get your attention and keep you in their specific web as much as they can, feeding you ads and gaining money and presence, power. A change of this dynamic would require first a change in the society we live in, a society that sees economic power as wealth and prosperity, instead of more advanced goals that reflect a more realistic perception of life and mortality. To eliminate the spider you must leave the web, for something less sticky and paralyzing, you gotta Surf through the web into the scary open seas of knowledge and chaos
@DS-lq3dr Жыл бұрын
Maybe. Or maybe it's always the lair of the beast. If you're very disciplined and self-controlled, you can venture in the lair, gather the gold, and get out without being consumed. But for many (or most) who venture down into it, they aren't prepared to make it out "alive". The beast inside lures them with all sorts of temptations, which they aren't able to resist. Think 'Sirens' from Odysseus' journey.

How would someone understand the difference between courage and arrogance? Because they are the same if you’re just starting out. This is a damn good question. I suspect that it's always a back and forth between the two. @Alex-hu5eg4 жыл бұрын
Jung swore throughout his life to adaptation (Anpassung) and, without exception, traced all abnormalities back to incomplete adaptation. It wasn’t until very late, around his eighties, that he realized, things didn’t match. Social reality is interwoven with corrupt and fantastic elements, and in terms of its reality, completely unreliable. Adaptation is naive, low-key and comical. Beyond a certain limit, if one recognizes the corruption of a conventional system of lies, and yet adapts, it is a person’s crime against himself. Moral impurity, that undermines the seriousness of human life. Jung turned to the opposite side. The cause of mental disorder is not deficient, but excessive adaptation. Tis is the reason for the mass psychological abnormality that occurs in this age. Refusal to adaptation leads to rebellion,and confrontation with the community, resulting in insanity. Adaptation, on the other hand, leads to opportunism, which results in corruption. The other mental illness.

I've been thinking lately about the internet, the demiurge is an interesting idea though i dont believe it to be a literal entity. I think the internet is more like a fairy circle again not literal fairies. In a fairy circle you dance with the fairies for what seems like minutes but is actually hours or days sometimes even years. The internet especially video games feel like that. But I suppose its the same idea as the demiurge in that it is a trap. Though a fairy circle is typically in folklore not a trap though it can be sometimes by evil fairies. Fairies just experience time differently than we do and think they are giving us a gift of an experience but really they are wasting our time. I don't think fairies exist but it be pretty cool if they did. who knows theres alot we dont know about the world, let alone the fairy world.

@@darktrooper-ub6eo exactly . Annihilation is both masculine and feminine . This channel is funny . “Comparing Christ and evil spider mother .” Christ is not selfish he does not eat . I can see this guy is Christian hater . The internet is invented by A “man “ and used by men and women . The fact that this channel exist in the internet makes him part of the collective . He is also a user of the “spider”. We all are . It depends on how you use it and what you make of it . The internet is not evil . It depends on The user .
