You have drum dial so I was asking what setting do you have for your drums

I received two digital drum dials and both of the tuning tips / rods do not move. I can not believe they are both defective. Everything I've researched shows if they are stuck then they need repairing. I can not find an answer anywhere saying you have to do something when you first receive them to make the tip work and move freely. One is stuck all the way inside. The other sticks out just a bit but won't move. I tried on and off button and Calibration. One of them I tried a little pressure to get it moving and a little pressure twisting to see if it starts to move. They are stuck and do not move. Anyone have a suggestion? I looked on forums and I don't see that you need to do anything when new.

I wish you would show the moment you take it out the case brand new and start using it. Then I would be able to see if you need to do something to get the tuning tip / rod to start moving.

What it really is, is a cheap chinese "shore type c hardness tester" that you can buy for 10$. It eaven has the same casing as those sold on aliexpress.

I'm going to leave a comment cause I can, I personally would not get involved with one of these devices because I don't want to tune my drum by numbers. I have no experience with these gadgets and have no desire to own one. I tune my drums by the way I want them to sound, drums have been around for thousands of years, listen to the great drummers from the past, all tuned by ear and it's not that hard. I just feel that by tuning with one of these things actually makes it more complicated than what it is. that's just my opinion it might suck! but it's mine.

+kenneth kunie I hear 'ya! It's no different than people who choose to not use electronic guitar tuners. It's good to have choices though.

I know what you're saying i tune by ear but if you record your drums it makes recording alot easier

The world is full of choices, what works for me may not work for someone else. There's no rules, what ever makes it easier or quicker for you, whatever techniques you use, do what thrills you. I have grown accustomed to the way I do things over the past 52 years and I have my way of doing things. I apologize for putting down or trying to degrade this product. I was dead wrong and I hope I never do it again.

kenneth kunie I see where you're coming from and everyone should know how to tune by ear but these are made (atleast I think) for studio and live situations where you need one what I do I tune my drums by ear and then check with a drum dial.
