Why would you even bring that shit up and reference idiots on a video and full day celebrating Chad Smith?? Does it make you feel important? He was never "supposed" to be some accomplished vocalist. Half the time he's rapping. All the MORONS can't comprehend no auto tune. Ever hear this huge money makers? Katie Perry? Taylor? How about Freddie live? PfFFFT. He had to have the audience sing most of his verses. And there would never be any better FIT for this band. HIs tone is so recognizable and rhythmically perfect Yes he's a phenomenal front man and lets not forget wrote all their fvcking songs, FFS. No go watch Chris Cornell being a crap shoot live.

Really love the way Chad treats the recorded studio drum parts. They’re the basis of the song for radio, but when switched to a live setting it means nothing. It’s a jumping off point for him to jam, while still maintaining the hardest of grooves. You know what it usually sounds like, you’ve heard it a thousand times, so here it is with 4 times the energy. The guys sense of fun behind a kit is infectious. Love it.

I was working in a rehearsal studio and the Peppers were in there for about a month. Every day, Chad, Flea and John would just jam for an hour or so before Rick Rubin and Anthony got there. It was unreal, like Hendrix with Bonham and Jaco for a rhythm section. John sang a bunch. Some of the best live music I've heard and it never saw the light of day. Same with STP.
