Is it possible to get a job in the film or animation industry with a Digital Media degree? I'm a little worried because most of my required classes are coding based and I truly HATE coding with the grieving passion. My adviser expects me to get a programming/coding based job, but that's not what I had in mind. All I want is a job editing professional videos OR making animations (cartoons). So tell me, did I pick the wrong major?

Crypto Crypto I'm by no means an authority on this subject but I believe if you want to edit films or create animations you should look into programs that focus on visual effects, 3D modeling and/or animation. In my experience programming and coding are used on the backend of films and animation, not necessarily on the front end where you take care of the visual component of a project. I encourage you to research this more on your own to find more creditable sources than me. Good luck to you and I hope you find the information you're looking for!

Ok because I'm majoring in Digital Media and everyone I've talked to said that their job is coding based. And that makes me a little nervous because I'm not that good at coding, but I really want a job in animation or video editing

Crypto Funny you mention this. I was actually thinking about getting a certificate in coding and a masters in data science w/ another masters in dig. media. I wasn't a big fan of coding, but learning alot of it can open a lot of doors
