Digital SAT vs. the ACT: Which Test Should You Take?

As someone who scored a 34 composite on the ACT, I will say that the skills you gain are definitely universal between both tests. These include quick reading comprehension, strong math skills, and exceptional mental focus and reasoning. Neither test is going to be a complete "game-changer" if you lack these skills, but it will help by choosing one that fits your preferences.

Don’t forget that ACT math is all multiple choice whereas DSAT math has several “create your own answer” questions. You say at 1:35 “There are more math Q on the SAT than ACT” yet ACT math is 60 Q whereas DSAT is 44 Q

Now that the test is digital, new things can happen. To gather more data, they should encourage students to take the test as many times as possible to gather more data. It might help to research how a kid studies and how they can improve their grades and scores. If a kid takes a test once the score be a result of luck. But if a kid takes the test 10 times, the average is probably more accurate. I remember studying an entire dictionary and I had the bad luck of not a single word coming up.

I agree with you, I definitely do better on paper. I find it extremely hard to focus reading a computer screen, but I had to take the digital SAT because only the SAT is offered in my geographical location…I took the digital SAT over and over again, and it's really hard to get a better score unless I improved my focus….

Athletes have higher chances if they are recruitable or have achieved national/international levels of recognition.

Or you can attend an elite private high school where every student is deemed to "require" accommodations that give them time and half to take the test.

Hello I’ve been out of school taking a break from school since 2022 and I’ve decide to start college and can’t decide which test would be a great fit for me since I’ve been out of school for a while is there any suggestion for me ? Both the schools I want to attend the sat require ment for one is 500 and the other is 980 or for the act for both schools is 18

1. Take a practice test of each and see how you do. If one is already where you need it, or closer to your goal, take that one. 2. If both are about equal and your math is already 18+, I would pick ACT because it is usually easier to improve on in lower score ranges than the SAT. 3. See what is available when and what works with your schedule.
