First time using one of these & the best way to describe it, is after the desoldering, you cherry pick the components off the board, & maybe fall out on the own accord. Some components might be a bit stubborn though you may have to pull on the component that you wish to desolder while sucking the molten solder out. Its quite easy to burn your fingers through the components when pulling on them if you're not careful.
