Great channel thanks. Must work my way through your tutorials . Just hit the road after a 6 yr gap. Using VDJ 21 Question please I play Music, Karaoke & Video. I think on older versions you could be selective with your search. I've searched the web and Y Tube but can't find any direct information on this. So that I can for instance search only karaoke files etc. Hope you can help thanks Tony from the UK.

Thank you very much for your well-thought-out, and organized video. I most recently have been using Serato DJ pro. I just downloaded virtual DJ 2020 and I'm very impressed with the changes especially visually. VD in my opinion has always ran much faster and smoother than Serato. But I've always preferred the professional look of Serato. I'm a very visual person. Now I'm thinking about coming back to virtual DJ. this video will really will help me with organizing.

I loved this video, and you explained things very well. I am trying to clear up my files, and I want to ensure that the filename is the same as the tags (artist & Title). I can do this using MP3 Tag, but I would have to wipe the database and re-enter all the tracks in the folder. If I did this, would I lose all filters and playlists for these files? I would not change the tags, just the file name. I don't want to destroy all that work. What do you think?

I am finally ripping my CDs and become a laptop DJ, lol. I was trying to locate the page you showed, filter folder examples, on the VDJ website, and can not find? I am trying to remove dead files. I have also tried to delete the tracks and to remove from the database but they are still there? Also to add to database when you right-click mouse is it instant or am I waiting for the indicator bar to run along each track? Thank you, Pat

Question: HD crashed and had to reinstall. :-( I used to be able to click ITUNES, all my folders within ITUNES would show. If I clicked on a specific folder, those songs would show. Now it's all listing artists. If I clicked on the main MUSIC folder, all songs within all subfolders would show. (in the main screen) How do I get that back? TIA!

Not sure about that Mick - I know you can increase the font size of the library tracks in the preferences if that's what you mean? :)

After viewing this and learning how the favorite folders work, I feel stupid by taking Crate Hackers advice and going without folders. It's been a pain, trying to redo my old folders from my old extental drive and create them as Virtual folders, one song at a time. 🙄

In theory, of course. But mobile DJs need to carry an awful lot of music, and it can pile up. Have you never bought a tune only to find you'd already bought it? I know I have!

@@digitaldjtips I have indeed bought songs I already had,,,,2 or 3 maybe. The list she showed of songs she had but did not know was quite large and she wasn't talking about duplicates. Maybe it was just an example and not even true but I thought it was a bad example and encourages a behaviour we as DJ's should not do. Just my 2 cents.

phinds1 My weakest generes is Latin music. I have acquired a large database of it to cover most of anything I could need. There are artist and styles that are difficult to remember since it's not in my normal rotation. With proper tagging, there are artist or songs I may have forgot about or not realized I had. Belonging to numerous record pools there is no way to scan everything I download. But if somone asks for salsa or merengue I can easily search for what I have in one location. Database management is a very personal preference. I encourage people to do what works for them. Thanks for watching and your feedback.
