I’ve been DJing 25 years, and I watch these vids to see what’s being taught to newbies, and because I’m interested in tutorials on the basics (when I got turntables in 1994 I thought the way to beat mix was to calculate the BPM for each tune then adjust the % to match!!! I didn’t have DJ mates or KZbin lol). I have to say - These are really good videos and if you’re starting out, you can’t go wrong by following and practising these tips (hint: at first, it’s ALL about practice!! The more practice, the better you’ll be) and don’t ever listen to some old skool dick that says you can’t DJ unless you start on turntables and no controllers 🙄 they’re just jealous it took them years to do what technology can do in one click of a button hahaha... good luck!!

OK I’m 56 then spin the club at 12Years of age it was hard to transition to digital. Latency was an issue took me a long time before could cut it up!

Iv been djing for years and have little knowledge about scratching but everytime I look for a course or video I can never make it work with my preferred music style (UK hardcore or bounce) so I was just wondering if the course would cover that kind of tempo/harder styles music tha ks jn advance

Scratching to hardcore can actually be a bit easier as it is best done at half the speed. All the best hardcore DJ's who scratch such as Sy, Slipmatt, Hixxy etc started out playing hip hop which is roughly half the speed of Hardcore which is how they managed to transfer their scratch skills so easily. Great advice, scratching is scratching - learning the techniques and then listening to examples of others doing it is going to get you most of the way!

how much you set the crossfader curved when scratching?

You don't want a linear fade (looks like an X), you want the other record to come in about 100% when you've moved the cross fader 10-25% of the way over from your non-scratching track. Should look something like this... ___ / \ Also, you should NEVER move the cross fader over half-way when you're using it to scratch (unless you maybe want to do a baby-scratch solo??)

Hello folks, i know a little english...but...what kind of music do i need to put in the background to train the sample scratch? Because i hear house, deep house, etc...but the background that you use is like hip hop o something like that....and the background that i need to use...it is has to be in 70 bpm? Thanks!

Alonso... any music can be scratched to. I love scratching to funky techno, electro & house. It’s usually hip hop though. But just do whatever suits you! That’s what DJing is all about! That’s my opinion anyway 🤷‍♂️
