Great video and photoshoot. My go to setup is the A7 IV + 35mm GM or if i need to get closer 85mm GM. Never considered the 135mm. I just love the bokeh on the 85GM it is "creamy". The detail it captures is amazing when it comes to headshots. You can see the reflection of the background in her eyes.

Amazing compositions! I just ordered the 7IV to go with my A1. Ive heard some negatives on eye AF being less accurate than the 7III, but you dont seem to be having any. I just ordered the Tamron 35-150 f2/2.8, so im looking forward to that.
@nogerboher52662 жыл бұрын
You heard false. Eye/Face AF is WAAAY better than a7lll, almost on par with the A1 (I tested them both side by side on a tripod with my brother as a test subject, doing 150 shots in total, over 2 hours of shooting in all kinds of situations and both got 140+ shots in focus - a7IV got 142 out of 150 in focus and a1 got 145 out of 150 in focus.) It's the minimal distance focusing bug/glitch that causes the camera to front or back focus slightly, that's the issue, nothing to do with AF being bad. Will be easily fixed with the next firmware, along with the overheating bug/glitch. Also, that 35-150 from Tamron is surprisingly good and produces very, very clear and sharp images but without them looking clinical. I have to admit tough, it is a bit too big and quite heavy for that focal length. When you shoot at 30-40mm, 50mm, 60-70mm, 85mm and around 120-140mm, images look like they are shot on a prime lens, not on a zoomie. Amazing lens! Feels like it's a 10,000 EUR lens - at least to me it did!
@davetv81712 жыл бұрын
@@nogerboher5266 i can see why that Tamron is so hard to find.

OMG so much beauty to process... can't say what I'd prefer, I think the context of the 35 is nice also through careful composition on your behalf it looks really interesting and engages me emotionally, anyway, the 85 delivers more engaging faces to me, but I'm not sure I would trade it for the extra context, since the location is nice. The last shots and the shots between the arcs were especially touching for me.

Ugh your videos are so AMAZING & they help me out a lot considering I’m both a model and a beginner photographer. I have a 50 mm lens already, but what would you recommend for a Canon EOS Rebel T7 (as far as 35mm & 85mm)? Something that’s more affordable as well!
@juliatrotti2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It depends what kind of photos you like taking. If you like environmental portraits I use a 35mm for that, bonus with a 35 is that you can use it for travel/landscapes and other kinds of photography too. If you're more into classic portraits then an 85 or 135 is great too, you can also use those for street photography. I have lots of videos with different focal lengths (primes + zooms) and comparison videos too which all revolve around portraits, not sure if you've seen many but that might help you decide too!
@tra-aungreen2 жыл бұрын
@@juliatrotti I’ll take a look at some more videos for a better understanding. Thank you, I greatly appreciate it!! ❤️
@gregkiserphotography2 жыл бұрын
@@tra-aungreen Also keep in mind that you are shooting with a crop frame camera so the focal lengths won't be exactly the same. Your 50mm is actually equivalent to an 80mm lens for this conversation. The 35mm will be equivalent to a 56mm lens. Just multiply the stamped focal length by 1.6 for your Canon and that will give you the full frame equivalents that are being discussed here.
@tra-aungreen2 жыл бұрын
@@gregkiserphotography Okay that actually makes a lot sense because I’ve always wondered why the picture looks a lot lengthy. Thank you so much I’ll definitely keep that in mind!!

@juliatrotti2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Since this is a creative shoot where I don’t need perfect colours of the outfits, I manually set my white balance so it looks good on the back of the camera for when I show my team photos. Usually that’s between 5000-5500K outdoors. Since i shoot in raw, you can adjust the WB to suite what you’re after in post. If I need correct colours for outfits with an e-commerce shoot for example, I would use a grey card to measure WB properly.

@irmaocarmo8296 Жыл бұрын
This is a good question for anyone who doesn't have a lot of money and consider a macro lens. As an amateur, based on the tutorials I've seen, I've opted to buy the sony 90mm f 2.8 macro. I don't intend to buy the 85mm and this way I can avoid excess of weight in my backpack. The 90mm macro is multifunctional: portraits, macro shots and with its integrated stabiliser you can make video clips without a tripod (although, whenever possible, video should be made with the support of a tripod). Merry Christmas.
