And here is me with the Steam Deck LCD 512GB I bought recently for EUR 350. And it has a screen on top of that. And can even do some dev work with a Bluetooth keyboard on the go Certainly not 3 times slower

Incredible performance from AMD here. Still I am more than satisfied with streaming games from my PC at 1440p ultra, downscaled to 1080p over Steam link, to my iPad Mini or Logitech G Cloud. The Steam deck just can’t touch that experience as long as there’s WiFi available, e.g. from my phones ‘s hotspot.

Back in 2005 I had a Dell Pentium 4 laptop with Intel integrated graphics, and it couldn't even run BF1942 which was about 3 years old at a playable frame rate at 800x600, LOW setting 🤣. IGPUs are pretty impressive now for what they are.🙂

Was the wattage only a setting or also confirmed at the wall?

Before purchasing, I'd do a quick experiment and lookup some of their models already released. Next attempt to locate a bios update.

What's wrong with the included BIOS

You can probably run a GPU off the nvme slot like you can in many laptops. So you tecnically can make a dGPU set up for it.

Power button on the front? I wonder if anyone at Apple has considered such a bold move?

Where are the benchmarks vs lunar lake?
@azazelleblackАй бұрын
Well, there aren't any Lunar Lake mini-PCs yet. Maybe that's why? That said, having tested STX vs. LNL, I can tell you that while LNL puts up good competition, when both are not power or thermal limited, STX is quite a lot faster. But it's also a much larger and power-hungry chip. LNL competes well at lower power limits.

@azazelleblack theres a handheld. These guys prolly didnt get it for review.

Is it possible to update the Agesa version with the Beelink? If not it would be a shame because the latest Agesa versions showed some pretty nice uplifts.

When will products be available with the 40cu Strix Point APU?
@jimstraw9974Күн бұрын
My Beelink SER9 does have the USB4 Thunderbolt 40GB/S USB C. It's the rear port next to the Power jack. Only 2 USB 3.2 10 GB/S Type A one in front and one is the upper USB A on the back and all other USB A are USB 2.0 480MB/S. The front USB Type C is 10 GB/S.

Mighty Impressive that steamdeck is .... 7nm chip so well made and optimized to be as efficient as 4nm strix point . JUST WOW 👍

With more memory bandwidth (256 bits) will be interesting. I imagine 4 Zen5 cores + 6 Zen5c cores, 20 compute unit GPU, 256 bits memory interface at 15W TDP.
@plonk420Ай бұрын
i wonder what the perf would be if you disabled (if even possible) 4-6 Zen5c cores

All modern gaming mobile pcs should have a 4xpci e external gpu connection port. I seen people plug in 4090s and the 4x port is fast enough to get 90+% of GPU usage. An AMD has put out some great external mobile eGPUs with 12GB of VRAM so the bus isn't accessed exept for video output. Vram is loaded in one go, makes the 4x port at 60GBit a sec good enough to push any modern game without vram studering. These ports also super accelerated AI LLMs. Allowing you to push 80+TOPs of through put on a laptop is amazing.
