Hello. Don't know if you guys will answer or if it's just a fault of my bad photography skills, but I shot some portraits of a friend today in daylight with Aperture Priority and the lowest aperture to get the shallow depth of field ( I have a Nikon D3300 with a Sigma 18-250mm lens ) and the photos looked insanely good from a distance, but I just needed to zoom in a bit and they were grainy and had chromatic abberation in the background. Is my lens damaged as I dropped it 1 year ago or am I just bad at photos?
@DigitalGojaUSA6 жыл бұрын
Chromatic aberration is a common problem in lenses, it may not be from dropping the lens (although I would probably have the lens checked out for other issues. Typically more expensive zoom lenses have more advanced optical designs and improved coatings to reduce or eliminate the effect. Since you are using an all-in-one type lens CA (chromatic aberration) may be more apparent at certain focal lengths, and even apertures are chosen. I would recommend you to set your camera to Raw instead of shooting in JPG and CA or color fringing could be corrected in a RAW editor like Adobe Lightroom. If your images look "Grainy" make sure to keep an eye on your ISO. When you extend the lens out it reduces the maximum aperture limiting it's light gathering capabilities. Even in bright light, the camera might have to choose a higher ISO, and that is where you will start noticing more noise or grain in the image. One other thing, if you underexpose the image and have to lighten it up afterward you will start to see noise in the shadow regions. We hope that helps.

Can you help me figure out between d3300, d3400 and d5200.
@DigitalGojaUSA7 жыл бұрын
Hi there! The decision will depend on your camera preference and budget. Both cameras have almost identical specifications with some features that differentiates one from the other. The Nikon D5300 has more AF points and more Cross Type AF points, it also feature a tilt swivel screen and has built-in Wifi. In the other hand the D3400 is cheaper and has a lighter weight, it's a newer camera and has an improved battery life. ;)

How do you get the icons that were on on the top of the Live view Screen to reappear. Something changed and they are no longer there.

Hello, Bob Crofford. You should be able to press the info button which sits behind the shutter release to toggle through what is displayed on your screen. Thanks for watching!

+vishal wadnere both are good cameras with similar technical specifications for starters in the world of photography. However, the Canon 700D features an LCD touch-screen and AF video recording.

Great video! Is there any lenses for the 3300 that auto focus for you while taking video? So you do not have to do it manually? Otherwise what's your suggestion for a camera that auto focuses very well during video?
@DigitalGojaUSA8 жыл бұрын
Hi Chase, no, unfortunately that model doesn't offer AF for video, regardless of the lens.

Great information. Question: I bought this camera 4 months ago and love it. Yesterday, however, I tried to make a video and the camera only records 3:00 mins now, and counts down to 0. It used to go longer. I didn't make any setting changes (the memory card is completely empty). Any suggestions? Thanks again!

i have the latest firmware installed. on the menu the auto info screen is set to off, but the lcd screen lighs up when the exposure compensation button is pressed, either on P, S, A mode to increase decrease exposure or on M mode to set diaphram. is it just my d3300 or a general issue...
@DigitalGojaUSA8 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Go and do a menu reset, this should allow you to access thru the info button, if not then it's your camera that's not working properly.

I'm quite interested in buying this camera. Many people tell me to get the Nikdon D5300 instead but that isn't in my price range. I'm a make-up artist and I basically just need portrait shots of other people which I can achieve well with a 50mm lense, along with photos of myself. I would occassionally do video of events which looks good with this camera, and may start KZbin tutorials if I get into that. One question to do with video - say if I'm shooting alone and I'd want to focus on myself, would I need a remote in order to focus on myself or how would I do that? Do you think this camera is suitable for what I need it for?
@DigitalGojaUSA8 жыл бұрын
+Ellie R Hi there! Yes you can, just switch to AF-F mode, wait for it to find its focus point, and then press the Movie-Record button to start recording. Focus is adjusted as needed if move through the frame or you pan the camera.
@ellieread35378 жыл бұрын
+Digital Goja I wouldn't beagle to wait until it focuses on me though as I wouldn't be at the camera and I mean to take photos not record. Like how would I take an image of myself away but infront of the camera with it focused on me but no one controlling the focus? That's why I asked if I would need a remote. :-)
@ellieread35378 жыл бұрын
+Ellie R I apologise for saying video in my first comment - I meant taking photos but the same thing would occur for both I guess. I just don't know how to focus it on me when I'm not at the camera.
@DigitalGojaUSA8 жыл бұрын
+Ellie R Gotcha, after you press the shutter-release button when using a remote control, the AF-assist lamp blinks for about 2 seconds, and then the camera takes the picture. So yes, the camera can focus will auto focus and you can release the shutter with a remote.
@ellieread35378 жыл бұрын
+Digital Goja Oh okay thankyou! So do you just hold the shutter button on the remote half way like you would a normal camera button and then it focuses? Sorry I'm new to all of this!

That is under properties in the files or go into the display settings in the camera and activate all the info so you can see it right on the camera LCD.

Hi, great video I learned a lot. I want to get into DSLR, because I think my Pentax P30 bought in 1986 is now maybe too old!!! I know next to nothing about digital photography so I regard myself as a beginner. Is the Nikon D3300 the best entry level one, despite it being 2 years old I believe? Thanks Mark, Coventry, England

Hello Guru Vishnu. It's recommended to remove the battery after it has completed charging. Most original chargers will stop charging the battery once complete. If the battery has changed shape in any way please properly discard the battery.

hey! how if live view focusing and clicking on this camera? Also, should I get the Nikon d3300 or the Canon 700d, mostly for stills? :o
@DigitalGojaUSA8 жыл бұрын
Hi Mazin! The Nikon D3300 takes higher resolution photos MP (24.2 vs 18.0) however, the Canon 700D has more cross-type AF points. You have to weigh out the features you are looking for to make a choice. ;)
@mazinbashar41408 жыл бұрын
Digital Goja I'd been leaning towards the d3300 all this time, but the live view focusing, according to many people out there, seems to be very bad on the d3300. Is it so? Should I get the 700d over the Nikon d3300 only for this reason?
@DigitalGojaUSA8 жыл бұрын
+Mazin Bashar on my opinion, Canon cameras have a better live view focusing, at least until the D7100.
@mazinbashar41408 жыл бұрын
Digital Goja oh. That's pretty disappointing. I was thinking of getting the d3300 it just seemed like the perfect choice, untill now. Is the live view on the d3300 something like 'unusable'?
@DigitalGojaUSA8 жыл бұрын
+Mazin Bashar no, the D3300 it's a great option for starters and the live view function is good. What I tried to say before is that Canon T5i has a better live view focusing than the D3300.

how to focus in the low light situation with lens zoom in ?
@DigitalGojaUSA7 жыл бұрын
Hi Justin, we would suggest setting the ISO between 1600 and 3200 and when shooting hand-held, use Shutter Priority and turn the rear Control dial to set the shutter speed at 1/30 of a second or faster. (It's best to use 1/60 of a second or faster.) If you set it slower, the VR (Vibration Reduction system, where part of the lens moves to counteract shaking) won't be able to compensate.
