the audience questions are unusually intelligent and interesting for a daytime talk show

Live-audience television shows don’t need a director like David Lynch to create a surreal feeling...

This is great. Can you imagine getting on set in audience and finding out it's the Twin Peaks cast? Right before the last Season 1 episode -which aired May 2,I believe,of 1990. I was in Donahue audience once. It was a show about people having affairs. You really don't know the topic until moments before it starts.

I didn't even get that but it makes perfect sense that this was some real sneaky foreshadowing on Lynch's part. Props to that woman

And yet the producer deflected it with humor, resulting in the audience laughing at the suggestion. She probably felt embarrassed after that, even though she was spot on.

I was just in North Bend this morning. I think of that as more "Twin Peaks" than Snoqualmie. I ate at the Double R for breakfast (now Twede's.)

Wow 10 months ago haha, I'd forgotten about this. I burst out laughing then and I've burst out laughing now. Something else made me laugh this time though. Just the way Donahue says "I'm sure you're all getting mail?" And then it cuts to the sinister, smirking man. He's definitely either sent them a letter bomb or some sexually disturbing photos of himself taken in the abattoir he works at.

Running it on Saturdays killed it. Why would they take a successful show and move it like that? Lynch went on Letterman and pleaded with ABC to move it back to a weeknight.

I would be so pissed if I was Mark Frost or any of the cast members present. Between Donahue, the line of questioning and the questions themselves - it's unbelievable. The majority of them lack insight or substance and many are shallow comments on the show.
