That's why i don't like scale rollercoasters because the cars move waaaaay too fast, and irl the passengers would get killed by the insane G forces, so it's unnatural how most scale models move compared to the real thing.
@joebonomono5078 Жыл бұрын
I thought it was just me being old, but yes I agree with you, the reduced speed allows for a more realistic appreciation for what you're seeing. I was thinking a nice steampunky blimp would be really cool to see flying around and watch the mechanics of that.

When my father was a child, he made model airplanes. Had them hanging in his bedroom. Then he started making models that actually flew. Passed the hobby along to me as a kid. But these super-light, RC indoor models are CRAZY COOL MAN! Dad would’ve loved them God rest his soul. Thanks😇👍🏻

My guess is that they are built with a super light weight frame made of lightweight wood or carbon fiber inside the fuselage that is pressure filled with helium like a balloon. The wings would be a combination of cut foam wood or carbon structure and pressure filled with helium as well... but this is just a guess...

I do like how these ultra lights fly really scale. I wasn't expecting that. I thought the light wing loading would make them just look slow and floaty. Especially the Dash-8's! They look so good.
@theverseshed Жыл бұрын
The Corsair and Concorde were especially impressive. It would be interesting to see a film about how some of these models were built and powered to make them suitable for indoor flying. So boring seeing RC jets flying out in the open . . . most are just a blur, although the occasional mid-air disintegration can be somewhat interesting.
@xMRPx Жыл бұрын
Seeing all those planes flying around at the same time reminded me of when I used to pylon race. When I was just barely a teenager, I got involved in racing 100mph Q-500's and I was good at it. But I was young and sharp, my brain could process information at the speed of light back then! Fast forward 40+ years and here I am watching these slow flying aircraft thinking how fun it would be to fly something so slow and graceful and more to scale. I still fly r/c planes but mainly flat bottom high winged airplanes with 80+" wingspans and I own a '49 C170A, but this looks challenging. Besides the confines of a building and a crowd so close by, it seems to me they're flying just barely over their stall speed. Maybe it's an illusion. Either way, there's some very accomplished pilots there with some beautiful aircraft doing a fantastic job! Great video!

With the skills of these modellers, I’m sure that a model could be built for outdoor use. Thereby giving a much more realistic flight characteristic. If just using partial helium,it would give the models that scale flight. Come on you modellers. You could do this for outdoor models. And you wouldn’t need the expensive jet engines. It would be beautiful to see these RC models in scale flight character. Yes they would probably have to fly slightly faster than indoor models. But it would allow you to slow down the over scale flying characteristics.
