Wonderful lecture, really educational, sat listening and watching during my own University studio time, picked up a couple of things I didn't know too, and when I got back to Rome I will sit inside the Pantheon for 45 minutes. From A UK based Architecture student

I love this tutorial/ class ... I need to do this for my final presentation in design .However, they ask me to do diagrams without explaining me what is it or what program should I use... Thankfully I found this amazing video. Thank you for sharing this information in a really good way.

Thank you for teaching. I have a question about color coding. what if we are working on an urban scale, what is the strategy? we can do the same thing here? thanks again.
@digitaltoolsforarch5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the same strategy would work for an urban scale. Just be careful not to create a "rainbow" with too many colors... concentrate on highlighting only 1 or 2 things.

@@digitaltoolsforarch so i have to use the pen tool all over my map? the file wont get heavy?
@digitaltoolsforarch5 жыл бұрын
Try opening a new Illustrator file and use File>Place to bring in your map on a unique layer. Then lock the layer and draw over it with the pen tool. The file should not be too heavy because of the referenced map file rather than the embedded map file. Then again, if you map is huge, it still may get heavy. Let me know.@@farshadtorabi2254

very clear presentation but honestly.. why use illustrator... everything you did in illustrator could be achieved quicker, cheaper and more universally accessible in powerpoint .. i would expect universities more than anyone else to critically analyse the software they train students on rather than perpetuate the status quo... as a practising architect i am constantly frustrated at having to wean students out of adobe or autodesk products to software that is better, cheaper, more versatile than the adobe/autodesk... my biggest pet hate is indesign... the number of times i have been about to present to a client only to find a serious mistake in a diagram locked into an indesign file and unable to correct on the fly to the presentation... apart from the additional software cost to firms supporting all these adobe subscriptions... virtually every pc has POWERPOINT.. why not understand it and use it t achieve the same results rather than reinforcing the expensive status quo?

What you on about... powerpoint isn't free, it comes with the microsoft office suite.
