I recently found a Digitech Synth Wah (for guitar) on sale. Even though I am more of a guitar player than bassist, I tested it at the store with a Fender Jazz Bass and it sounded great! I wound up getting it for the sale price and use it for both guitar and bass. Great pedal for getting synth sounds, and it doesn't seem to me that it matters if you get the one for guitar or bass.

For the Hysteria tone you need this pedal and a the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff or Another bass fuzz, medium distortion... Try by yourself!

The Hysteria tone is the Big Muff and Human Gear Animato in one channel with clean in the other.

The bass one has the octave setting, where as the guitar one has an autowah. I bought the guitar version, and I love it, but I want that octave so I'll be returning mine.

in my opinion to get a hysteria sound id recommend the MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe but if moneys tight a Behringer Distortion Modeler mine was only $15 and it works great :D

Ya it takes 9V DC. I've got a 1 SPOT that I use for most of my pedals. I think that's what it's plugged in to in this video.

I noticed it will still trigger if I pluck hard even with the sensitivity knob at minimum. So when I don't want it to trigger I turn down the volume on my bass.

I have one of these. I tend to keep my controls at 4. and use type 1 (basic envelope sound so it doesn t wash out the low end too much. Cool little gadget though. Thanks for posting!

Chris doesn't use this for Hysteria. He uses a human animato distortion pedal and Russian big muff. The Synthy sound in the song if either a synth or a midi synth. This Pedal won't give the hysteria tone but can give you something if you want to cover it on budget

Hysteria is a lot more distortion and a lot less synth. There are some demos that people have used this pedal with distortion, but really this is a bit too wild for the hysteria tone in my opinion.

Can you get these sounds using any guitar as long as you have this pedal? Or do you need a certain kind of guitar?

A good thing about this pedal is it does work with other instruments as opposed to the BOSS bass synth that if you use a guitar will go crazy and totally unusable. I have owned both but got rid of the BOSS for that reason.

There's a guitar version of the pedal as well. Using the Bass version on a guitar might make your tone a little muddy and dark.
