One day I had no amp during a rehearsal, I plugged my Grunge (not this Digitech, but the good old DOD) on a bass amp, and by adjusting the equalization of the amp I got exactly the Swedish death metal sound ! Which is "normally" obtained with a Boss Heavy Metal HM-2.

I wonder if the fact that he’s using EMGs is a contributing factor to the “more metal than grunge” comments on here. I don’t disagree but I’ve got this pedal too and while I use it with the gain at around 9 o’clock I think it does fine for grunge distortion.

If you don't have active emgs or simple humbuckers, you'll be able to use it as a fuzz pedal. It totally kills the low end, and if you turn up the low know it becomes muddy. You can find the sweet spot of the eq, but it's only good for a fuzz pedal. I wouldn't recomend buying it.

Ok. What I'm noticing with the Digitech pedals is that they have an EQ issue. Both of the ones I have are too much in the highs. I literally turn the highs all the way off and the low almost all the way up to get a decent EQ.
