It's insane how good some of these patches sound. I want to take the firmware of the digitone 2 and shove it inside my Syntakt somehow. There has to be a way.

Haha yeah right? Even the tease of having the Swarm engine in there which is the same as the Syntakt one, but with a couple extra options for choosing waveform... Such a tease haha! But Syntakt has those sweet, sweet analog tracks and filter :D

Is it possible to record 8-bar audio on tracks?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but it can do 8 pages (bars) on the sequencer per each of the 16 tracks. If you use USB to a computer, you can connect with the Overbridge plugin and record each track separately into you DAW for further mixing if that's your style. If you mean if it can record audio WITHIN the Digitone, no, it doesn't have any sampling capabilities.

Yes it is. instead of the previous 4 bar loop, now its 8. Nevermind OPs answer, theres no 16 bar loop on it.

@@hexwavemusic I'll get Digitakt II instead for the sampling/recording capabilities. My guess is that next version from Electron will be a merger between Digitakt and Digitone.

@kejo703 Yeah Digitakt 2 is definitely a great choice if you want sampling! It's possible, but they usually make their machines either a synth or a sampler. The only one I believe that has had both is the Rytm, but I don't think it can record, just play back samples loaded in. But who knows what's next!
