Too bad about the anaerobic decomposition in the potato bucket Steve. Hope the kiddos enjoyed their veg., Take care.

Hi Steve, Nice harvest on the Vivaldi potato 🥔 I hope you had a nice weekend. I imagine all of the UK 🇬🇧 is glued to the tellie watching 👀 the latest on the Queen's funeral. So sad for the whole world. Let's hope the next generation can hold the monarchy together 👍💓👍

Thanks Peggy. Yes, sad times but they had to come one day 🙁 I think Charles will do a good job, well he should do after a 70 year long apprenticeship! Have a great week over there

Nice update Steve and I need to give my compost more body, very rough and ready, but doesn't cost anything. My reveal of my Kondor's will be on Wednesday if the weather let's me get them out tonight. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.

What I didn't emphasis enough Ron is that those Vivaldi had all their chits rubbed off so I'll mention it for the next bucket (if I remember LOL)

Those true potatoe seeds are huge !! The kondors did not, there is no try 🤣 The Vivaldis were awsome!! Definitely agree on cardboard for the win !! We harvested our first ever parsnips today !! Nor bad :) Have a great week!! Btw the kids liked your comment the best 🦇🦇🦇🤣🤣🤣 Cheers J&C 🌱🌱🌱

Hi Steve Great update mate and plot tour. Shame about the Kondor but great result from the Vivaldi, I grew them the first year I had my allotment but was not very impressed with them. When you show your food on your updates it always makes me feel Hungary. Take care mate and be safe. 👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks Rob👍. It is a pity that Kondor are so unreliable to grow, and buy, as I reckon they make a great maincrop spud. They store very well and they are great for baking. Have a good week buddy

Great plot tour and the Vivaldi reveal is very good, I have had a mixed bag with regards my potatoes some good some bad, and my beans have been a little disappointing I got a good show of flowers but not a lot of beans, I think it's down to the weather being so hot. All the best.

Cheers Wayne. I did a quick film of my other plot today, where I don't grow beans, and all the plots around me are having superb harvests. So weird as my 2 plots are only half a mile apart!

First year growing Kondor for me, I was dissapointed, I will save some and have another go next year, I dont think it was just me with the rubbish spuds this year! Ohhhh bubble & squeak, I've not had that for ages, getting to that time of year again 🙂
@DigwellGreenfingers2 жыл бұрын
I agree! A rubbish year for Kondor all round. I've not seen one video with good results - even the "giants" at the Malvern Show were just about average for this whopping spud! Like you, I'm saving some in the fridge for 2023. Have a great week!

Cosmo is not considered edible but it’s not toxic either. Would love some rain here still super hot days and today super smoky due to fires on both sides of the border 🥲🥲. Such an odd year growing but luckily there is next year 🙏🙏. Have a fantastic week Steveo 🐝 safe and watch for vultures 😂😂

A bit garbage with that Kondor and smelly for you as well, but it was made better on those Vivaldi with whatever that weight was it sounded heavy at least 🤣 Cracking bit of Roast there and as i do as well a bit too much left over, but give me 5 mins and it's seconds away 🤣 Stay Safe Mate 😷 and have a good week, oh and nice car as well. Great vivaldi and veg harvests. What do you do with compost that turns anaerobic? Great plot tour thanks Steve and take care
@DigwellGreenfingers2 жыл бұрын
Hi San. I was so choked by the smell that I didn't have time to explain properly LOL. It went onto the end of one of my beds to extend it by a foot or so. If I remember I'll review it in a future video to see how it is recovering and helping the ground beneath 🙂
@sandram45262 жыл бұрын
@@DigwellGreenfingers I had a couple of buckets like that so I know that smell does effect what you're doing Lol. I wasn't sure if the compost could be reused so put it aside. Enjoy your week 😀👍

Steve, what is the size of the black plastic buckets with handles you use for your potatoes? What is the proper name for them? Do you know if they are only sold in the UK? How much do they cost? I would like some, but don’t know if they are sold in the US.
@DigwellGreenfingers2 жыл бұрын
I've looked on Amazon US for you but I cannot see any with handles. They are just called heavy duty pots (or similar) The ones I use are 30L (about 7 US Gal) Closest I can find is something like this but they are pricey and no handles: www.amazon.com/labworkauto-Nursery-Container-Injection-Hydroponics/dp/B08934MSMT I do use these fabric ones too - good! www.amazon.com/Skycase-Thickened-Nonwoven-Handles-Gardening/dp/B09PQKLRB8

@@DigwellGreenfingers thanks Steve. I have some pots I got from a floral shop that are smaller with no handles. I also have to drill holes. I really like the ones I have seen folks in the UK use. Oh well.
