The most powerful song I’ve ever heard. I come back at times and it brings me emotions I can’t describe. Hope. Perseverance. This song may have saved my life a couple times. Thank you Tavener.

Mr. Cox, this is great to hear this from you. I have never had the honor to serve our country as you however, since I was a little boy during Vietnam years and forever after - if you can believe it, I have been driven not by sympathy but by empathy for all of you. This composition, the movie and more -- I listen to often, I welcome it, cry with it and perhaps as an old man now - I've been serving our Vets for 3 years and protecting them in my own way as a medical specialist: I see it as a reward from God because I was able to get some things done for you that were hard to do but it was the right thing to do. The one "vision" I had in my life was just 2 years ago when all of you saved me from giving into stage IV cancer, I beat it for now but the short of it was: I woke-up and nobody gave me the final morphine on the field, instead there was a group of you guys that gave no guarantee - just grabbed me and said to the others: "Move out!" So, may you always revisit those moments through this music without harm or over-whelming grief to yourself, you deserve the waterworks from time to time -- I don't forget either. It is my peace at night and early morning - fearless.

Ray I believe it has something to do with the respect value that the song was written for sir John taveners fathers funeral so it was removed from “easy” access. @@bucketarchitect this is the only question everybody knows (deep inside) that nobody knows the answer to. But yet everyone acts as they know the answer....and of course the correct answer for everyone is the dominant religion in their place of birth. The rest of believers are wrong you think. Yet the only real truth is that nobody knows an answer and nobody has known in the history of humanity. Stop lying to yourself, I know it's satisfying to have an answer and unsatisfying to be honest to yourself and accept that you don't know if there is a creator and you will never know. Most probably there isn't any but you just don't know, nobody does. Just be honest to yourself.
@ionianechoes5 жыл бұрын
@@bucketarchitect Just stop lying to yourself and being so childish about your reasoning. "Christ has allowed you.....blablablabla" There is no creator most probably. And if there is one most probably he is NOT going to match the details your local schizophrenic BS aka religion gives you as dogmas. And even if there is a creator, this being probably wont even be aware that he has created anything and of course IT won't allow or not allow its creations to have faith or not. The whole thing is just an unscientific pile of BS and childish prehistoric thinking.
