I can certainly understand Taylor's comment about how calm the water is. Even though you are facing a somewhat sheltered bay, you still expect the North Atlantic to look like...the North Atlantic. Even on a calm day, you still expect at least a little touch of violence to the water.

The little red low berries are partridgeberries, also called lingonberries. They are super yummy!

Love it! My wife and I did that exact same trail last year and it was so windy it was hard to walk against it! You certainly lucked out with the calm weather - thanks for showcasing the beauty of my province. Looking forward to the next video.

It’s amazing! Luckily, we got great weather almost every day in Newfoundland 🙌🏻, sorry to hear about the wind when you were there, we heard it can get gnarly

@@MathersOnTheMap it’s an island in the North Atlantic…. it can get nasty in a hurry. You’ve probably noticed some similarities to Ireland and England, even with the people and the accents - the majority of the population are descendants of settlers who moved over here then migrated to different parts of the island. John Cabot claimed he could hardly get his boat to move in the harbours because the water was filled with so many fish! Keep up the good work with your content, love the channel!

I am so happy to see you are enjoying my provience of birth. I grt back home there every year. Also hope you had the opportunity to stop in my home town of Corner Brook, many great hikes there too. I know you will soon be in Nova Scotia and I hope you also enjoy it too. I am in Halifax, do you have to take time to explore the Halifax water front. Plus don't forget to head to Lawrencetown Beach to hit the surf. ( just outside of Halifax)

Glad you guys enjoyed yourself here in Newfoundland, maybe next time you travel here, you might want to visit Twillingate, as this is the area in which I reside, Twillingate is a great place to see icebergs, just make sure if you want to see the bergs to travel the right time of the year to see them.

I just started watching your videos and man I'm loving the adventuring. I'm from here in Newfoundland. Have you guys been up on the northern peninsula of Newfoundland? I'm from a little town called Englee way up north and the places up there are great as well. If you guys ever come back you have to visit. Cpuld even arrange for you guys to stay at my parents place lol. Incase you may like to stay in a house instead of the van to change it up a bit.

I happen to had the pleasure of becoming friends with a gentleman that was born in Dildo97 years ago, he's been deceased for 3 years now and his take on the name was that way back in the day Portuguese sailors arrived there and they name that settlement Dildo as it means(apparently) safe Harbour and it does have a natural and deep Harbour that would allow their ships to be safeguarded from storms

Many place names in Newfoundland are great. Other great place names and towns to visit......Virgin Cove, Tickle Cove, Exploits, Blow Me Down, Come By Chance, Conception Bay, Placentia, Heart's Content, Heart's Delight, Happy Adventure and many more I've missed. Get to Gander for the recent history and the September 11 memorial. Get to the west coast and the upper peninsula for Gros Morne National Park too. It's all so beautiful and the people are the best. You'll love everywhere you go and hopefully have a great trip with a Happy Ending...Just kidding...there's no town with that name.

Moved from Toronto, Ontario last year to Heart's Delight. Absolutely love it here. My husband and I feel like we are on a permanent vacation at a resort. Dildo Brewery and restaurant is a great spot - their burgers are insane!
