As a fan of Diljit Dosanjh, I have immense admiration for his music and acting talent. Songs like Ikk Kudi and Born to Shine are special in my playlist, and his portrayal in the Chamkila movie was brilliant. However, I believe there is a need for accountability regarding celebrities' influence, especially in shaping societal attitudes. Diljit recently mentioned, “If the government bans alcohol, I won’t sing them.” While I understand the sentiment behind this statement, I respectfully disagree with the reliance on government intervention for something that is, at its core, a matter of common sense. I greatly respect Diljit, but this is not the right way to look at things. Why wait for the government to tell you what’s right or wrong? As someone who proudly wears a turban(A proud Sikh) and represents a community, Diljit has a big responsibility. Banning a song about alcohol may not cause a reduction in the consumption of alcohol, but promoting a song on alcohol surely can influence young people to think drinking is cool or okay. Celebrities have a huge impact, especially on the younger generation. This isn’t just about Diljit-many celebrities, like Shah Rukh Khan, promote things like alcohol, pan masala, or betting apps. When questioned, they often say, “The government should ban these things first.” But is waiting for the government really the right attitude? Fans look up to these stars, some even standing outside their homes for hours in the heat just to glimpse them. Shouldn’t celebrities think about the message they’re sending to those fans? As a fan, I feel it’s important to point this out. Celebrities like Diljit and SRK have the power to inspire people. Instead of relying on bans or rules, they can set an example by making better choices. That’s how they can make a real, positive impact on their fans and society. Thanks for reading my point. Naah, it wasn't Gujarat, but the Telangana's Hydrabad Police ! He did this against Hydrabad Police stating "Let's start a movement if all states ban liquor consumption completely, I will never sing a song about alcohol again in my entire life. Is this possible?" Before making defamatory questions just learn the whole FACTS.
