Best advice I received from my dad “people will only care on 2 days when you die. The day you die & your funeral. the world will keep moving with or without you.” It helped me tremendously when he died in 2010.

"Best advice" holy s*** dude I'm sorry that you were given this information. I'm sure you would defy your father's words because I'm sure there's still plenty of people including yourself and thinking about him love him and miss him. I've lost my dad 10 years ago and I think about him every day so does my mother sisters wife and children. I would venture to say that this is some horrible advice and that you should never live your life and not remember your past. I'm not sure how old you are judging by your words you are a younger man but once you get to be my age you'll realize how important memories are and that crap about people only missing you for 2 days. Oh my friend, I can tell you that is totally wrong.
