They are both amazing pickups. Michael Romeo from symphony X uses an X2N bridge and a Tone Zone neck.

Which is a better choice for a single pickup 25.5 scale strat? I'm building a single pickup guitar. Interested in these two dimarzios. Which one is overally balanced? For clean dirt and coil split. I'm looking for the all rounder. I'm looking forward to your answer mate. Pass me your honest opinion. I'm a huge paul gilbert fan and helpless choosing between these two. Help me mate! God bless.

X2N. I run the tone zone with a one meg volume pot to brighten it up about 25% for classic rock

Is X2N a better choice for only 1 bridge pickup guitar? For riffs and solo! TIA.
@mikemadden46212 жыл бұрын
@@melodicshredder5834 X2N is tighter, brighter, hotter and more aggressive. In a 1 pickup guitar I use a 3 way switch. That way you can have series which is full power, split which is half power and brighter and thinner and parallel which is 1/4 power which is bright and balanced sounding. 3 good & useful tones from 1 pickup that way

@Mike_Stamper, which guitar do you use? Does it has FR or what kind of a bridge, wood, neck-type(set, bolt, through), plastic covers(Y/N)? Thank you for videos!

Hi!! An alder body strat with a canadian maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, bolt-on neck, a Wilkinson bridge for strat and pickups are always uncovered, :)

@@mikestamper thank you for clarification and fast response! My Jackson stars Warrior sounds a bit middy, probably that's why original pickup are SD JB. Thank you for your effort and good luck with your projects ;-)

Take also into account that having nice quality pots (like 500K CTS, for example) and electronics will have a higher effect on our sound than we all use to think. Stock pots on the most of commercial guitars are not always trustable. I tend to swap my electronics on every guitar I get, and results with same pickups are totally different before and after. A nice thing to address! :)

@@mikestamper that's a good advice, Mike, usually I change potentiometers, but not the rest. Thank you for your feedback and your effort! Good luck in your recordings, hope to see you on your concert ;-)
