Ave Maria is a christian prayer, that has been set to music hundreds of times. Schubert just composed the best known version. 😉 Dimash is deeply religious and believes in peace and understanding between religions and people from all nations. So he (a muslim) asked Igor Krutoy (jewish) to write this as a prayer without words for all people on this planet. ❤ His message is deeply moving, even though he doesn’t even say a word!. 🥹🥰

The festival New Wave was/is in Sochi/Russia. As an european I`ve to say that the audience in all european countries (think about spain and than finland) are so different that this is not generalized true. If we hear such a voice in Austria we stand up and give a hard round of applouse.

This is a Dimash Ave Maria. Dimash phoned Igor one evening, and said he wanted to create his version of Ave Maria. Dimash's knowledge of the many forms of this piece is deep. If u look it up its really interesting. Dimash phoned Igor late one evening saying he wanted to discuss his ideas for a version of Ave Maria, based on THE 4 notes that form the basis of the original version, but for it to be non sectarian ( there are many many styles going way back).So having shared his ideas they discussed further and once they felt satisfied with their combined version, Igor composed it and by morning their version had been created. So beautuful without words.

Another beautiful piece is Dimash's The Meaning of Eternity sung for a promotional video for a Chinese children's play. Mandarin but has subtitles in English. It's on Dimash's KZbin channel. El Amor En Ti is his own composition and first song in Spanish. From his Almaty concert and on his channel. Olimpico is another Krutoy composition written for Dimash and is a neoclassical Italian piece composed for the opening ceremony of the 2nd European Olympics in 2019. The performance from his Arnau concert 2019 is a fan favorite although any of his performances are fabulous. And many more.

Igor Krutoy (the gentleman at the piano) composed this version of the Ave Maria at Dimash's request. Did you know that there are more than 100 versions of the Ave Maria? Now there is one more. Usually, Ave Maria is a prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary. In this case, however, it is a prayer for all people, no matter what religion they belong to. While Schubert's version of Ave Maria typically is the most commonly known one there are many versions and variable compositions of Ave Maria from the past 200 years or so. This is generally thought to resemble Caccini's version the most. This one happens to have been composed by the great Igor Krutoy (The gentleman at the piano) specifically for dimash to debut at this performance.

An interesting thing to notice is he started off acapela and had to be on perfect pitch to match the notes that Igor started playing after Dimash sang a round! Another enjoyable reaction. Dimash's rendition of "Ave Maria" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever listened to. This rendition touches the very core of my soul. I have watched this performance countless times since it premiered, and no matter how many times I have already watched it, I am still moved to tears the moment I hear the first note sung by Dimash's angelic voice. This was the final of three songs Dimash premiered in August 2021 during his appearance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He once again performed with Igor Krutoy on the piano who composed this rendition for Dimash; it is not a cover. Someone stated that this is a vocalise interpretation of Schubert's "Ave Maria" opening vocals, and that the piece uses three bars from the original composition and changes the fourth note to a higher note. Whereas a classical musician on KZbin (@SirHairless), pointed out that his is more of an interpretation of the composition of Vladimir Vavilov, often misattributed to G. Caccini. Someone explained that Dimash called Igor Krutoy with an idea for a brand-new interpretation of Ave Maria and asked him to compose the music. Dimash is said to love Gregorian choral music, which is where he got the inspiration. Igor composed the music, after which Dimash conceived these exquisite vocals. Someone else likened it to "a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (dark to light)!" The last note Diamsh sings is known as "Messa di Voce," the singing of a gradual crescendo and decrescendo on a long sustained note. It is considered one of the most challenging vocal exercises, and voice experts regard it as the ultimate test for any singer, a skill even the most experienced vocalists rarely ever master. There have been at least 11 other compositions titled "Ave Maria" and over 40 different renditions of these versions over the past roughly 200 years. The version most people are likely familiar with is Schubert's 1825 composition or the 1853 Gounod composition, based on a famous Bach keyboard prelude written 137 years earlier. My opinion after my first listen, was that this “should’ve been the song heard around the world“. It took me a year to be inspired to write this following poem to highlight the different things that were happening while he was singing that song not only for him but for the audience. Dimash asked Igor Krutoy to compose this for him. It is based on Cassini’s version of Ave Maria (which is lovely) rather than Schubert’s, but it’s not exactly the same…

It was based on Franz Schubert and a vocalize composed by Igor Krutoy for Dimash. Dimash is muslim and would maybe not sing the hymn

The traditional Ave Maria /ˈa.ve maˈri.a/ means "All Hail Mary" and it is a prayer to Maria the mother of Jesus for the Catholic Church. It is not ONE song: many composers used that prayer as lyrics for their compositions Most people thought this would be the traditional prayer but this is not the Franz Schubert´s Ave Maria, on Bach/Gounod´s, or Michael Lorenc´s or Ave Maria di Caccini. I know them well because I used to play them when I studied to play the piano. His singing this being a muslim in a country where there are almost no Christians would be completely misunderstood. Dimash did a new one composed by Igor Krutoy and I guess that it started to take form from that featuring in "Love is like a dream. It has not lyrics, it is magic using only one vowel and impressing on it the feeling of that prayer.

Islam reveres Mary as the virgin mother of a prophet (Jesus) and an example of perfect submission to God. I believe she is the only woman to be mentioned by name in the Quran. Of course, some of the words to the Christian Ave Maria (specifically "Hail Mary, Mother of God,") would not be acceptable to Islam, but this one is a vocalise sung with no words.
