His voice gave out live on stage, and that's why you didn't hear anything while he waved the mic. He also does that to prove he sings live btw. The note is a D8 (higher than the last key on a full-sized piano) and if he sung it a few years ago, it would have been a world record for highest note for a male ever sang. It's definitely a world record for a male live performance though.

People lose their marbles when they hear his D8 but it's not the record. It was a spontaneous moment because he had missed the note he WAS going for. And it's a live performance so it's mainly for show. Dimash is not all about high notes though. For me, his stage presence and connection with the songs he sings is more important. He's the whole package. ❤

Great reaction! Guess what? There’s more! Dimash is going to snatch your wig again if you keep watching him. This was his first time hitting a D8 live, no one has ever hit that note before singing live, although a few singers have hit it in a lab setting for scientists. “Sinful Passion” is a must, as is “Love is like a Dream”, “Love of Tired Swans” and “Know”. All of those songs are different from each other and different from anything you’ve heard from him already. That D8 is the highest note anyone has ever hit in a live performance and he only did it that one time. He normally hits Whistle Notes in that song, but slightly lower ones than this time.

He sang that song in the singer competition, but he did not hit that high note; he did other vocal acrobatics though. The D8 here was a spontaneous impulse: After the previous note didn't come out Dimash got angry and produced what no one did before. I'd recommend Sinful Passion for your next reaction to Dimash. Take the version with the highest number of views as it has subtitles translating the Russian lyrics so you can understand what he is singing about and how he uses the different colors of his voice to support the lyrics.

That's note starts as a C#8 and he takes it up to a D8! He hit many whitles notes before, F6, E7, F#7, G7, and G#7 and they were beautifully sustained! He's incredible!

He composed this song in his late teens. And he perform it differently everytime he sings this song. Gakku is a TV station in Kazakhstan,which conduct this music festival every year and there were 150K audience and Dimash was star performer (showstopper) at the end of the festival, performed 5 songs. That was D8 with vibrato. He is 6'3", but leaner.

Great reaction, as always. This was at the annual Gakku TV open-air concert, and there were approximately 150,000 fans in attendance. Gakku TV is the first music channel in Kazakhstan that exclusively airs content produced in Kazakhstan, promoting Kazakh music, culture, and patriotism. Dimash wrote “Unforgettable Day” himself as a teenager. Dimash set a record for the highest note ever sung in a live concert, during this 2017 live performance. It is his now-famous D8. He not only hit a D8 but he also did a glissando and held it for ~5 seconds, even adding vibrato to it. It was a spontaneous attempt because he missed the slightly lower note he had initially aimed for. During the performance, he made certain to erases any doubt that this was indeed anything other than a true live performance by moving his make quickly from side to side as he sang. Although, there are still the occasional trolls who claim that the note was pre-recorded or that it was an electronic glitch. The Guinness Book of Records lists the highest note ever produced by a male as an E8. That was done in a studio, where the singer was just trying to hit the note. He held the note briefly after a proper warm-up and several attempts. Dimash has sung many whistle notes in the 7th & 8th octave in other live performances, but the above is his highest note to date. Because of his incredible range, over seven octaves now, and his vocal flexibility, he is able to make the impossible look easy. Dimash is not only considered by many to be the best singer in the world, but he is truly on another level. The Gakku Concert (in Kazakhstan) is a yearly open-air event. In 2017 Dimash was the Headliner for this Concert. He closed the concert by singing 5 songs for the audience. I have watched this Concert several times and it is wonderful. It is 4 hours long and is available to watch on KZbin. There were 150,000 people at this concert. Dimash has said himself that note was not planned. In all other versions of the song the D8 was not sung. He also sang it at one of the Miss Universe competitions. Go back and watch again. Right before the note the camera was far away. He did that fast motion movement of the mic back and forth to his mouth. But nothing came out of his mouth. He got upset with himself when this happened. That’s when he did the D8.

…a few fans…there were 150,000 at this open air concert! Dimash did a few songs but there were other artists performing as well…this performance was special though because it was the highest note sung by a male live… I understand that two males have sung notes higher than D8, (two notes higher than the piano) but they didn’t do it in a live performance like Dimash did. I don’t know if you noticed, but just before these C8 and D8 notes, Dimash tried to do a D7 (which is what he sometimes does in this song, that he composed when he was 19) but no sound came out, (he told us this in an interview later), so he decided he would try an octave higher!

Gakku festival is a show from Radio TV Gakku channel - Kazakhistan, It's a cable and satellite channel dedicated only for arts and music produces short content, which consists of music programs, news and entertainment in Kazakh and Russian. The Festival is where performs singers from all over Kazakh territory and some invited from the surrounding countries. It was the year of EXPO, on September 16, 2017, the festival launched in Almaty. First headliner was Dimash Kudaibergen. The festival was live and lasted 6 hours. 150.000 people visited it. Dimash sang 4 songs, was the last one to perform and everybody stayed till the end to see him sing. He came there specially from China, only to honor he's people, he's fans and he's country. When Dimash sings he's like in transe... everything stops around him, so concentrated he is...you can observe it sometimes, when he finishes the song, it's almost he "wakes up" from somewhere... When in an interview they asked him how could he do that D8 note, he said he didn't have the notion of doing it... it was involuntary... only later, when he reviewed the video (he does it every time, he's very critical with him self) he did notice that... That's why he has a range of 6 octaves +1...

I know I'm a year late joining this party, but I'm here now. I am just sitting here going down your playlist of Dimash because I love your reactions. I would like to suggest that you follow Dimash from the time he was on The Singer 2017. It was a Chinese singing competition for professional Chinese singers only. Dimash was invited to compete and was not only the first foreigner, but the youngest singer in the history of the show. He was 22 yrs. old at the time and the other singers were 12-39 yrs. his senior with established careers. They didn't expect him to go past the second round. SURPRISE!!!! They were amazed at every song he sang. I preferred his rendition of this on the show. Also, The Show Must Go On, All By Myself, and Confessa/ Diva Dance. Plus you will hear how he improved with each performance. His first four songs were in French, Russian, English, and Mandarin. At that time, he only spoke Kazak and Russian, and only had a week to learn each song. He placed second, only because they had to save face and have a beloved and popular Chinese singer win first place, Sandy Lam. I watched the entire show because it did have cc w/ English subtitles. I hope you post your reactions to the show. Thank you so much for your videos of Dimash. You two are great together. By the way, Dimash composed this song when he was 19 yrs. old. Even to this day, he trains vocally for 3-5 hrs. a day every day.
