You will not know about Dimash's singing until you hear him live. I know, because I heard him live. I was sitting in front of him few meters distance in a hotel hall in Film Festival in Cannes France. The equipment was very simple, no stage, no sound effects, nothing. When he start to sing the whole hall was full of his voice. It is so funny to watch you speculating about his singing. I hope Dimash will soon come to your country. You are missing so much. After that your reactions will be quite different I guarantee you. DKIFC/Slovenia

Okay -- just lost some respect with your lip sync insistence -- especially since it has already been disproved so many times for this performance... as as for your claim he's using a loop to fake the effect on his voice for that section, well again you've obviously missed the rehearsals where he practiced the technique. I don't mind when someone critiques or says negative things about a performance (even with Dimash), but it's rather insulting that you discredit the skills when you've already seen so many of his performances, and you've seen how much time he takes in perfecting his techniques for live performances. Once I let go -- but three insults and claiming he faked a live performance is insulting.

First off, it sounds as though you're assuming I don't have experience in the music or entertainment industry (which would not be accurate) Also, while my tone in my post may have sounded blunt (which I admit it was), I stand by my statement about the way the reactors presented repeated verbalization that it was lip synced -- although I did misuse the word "all" in "lost all respect" (for that I apologize) -- as I meant to type "lost some respect"... I've corrected it in the original post. One reason I may have come across a little harsher is because I appreciate the balance these Reactors usually give to performances (good and bad, and whether I agree with them or not) -- in fact, at one point there was a bit of a separation between the initial blind reactions and then more of an opinion/analysis portion when they covered extreme songs [i.e. songs that had a number of specific parts or sequences which were worthy of specific attention], and I also remember way back where they checked out some details before jumping straight to a claims or inferences. With most singers, yes -- hearing someone pull off what Dimash does live 'should' be very questionable... but it also makes a difference when you've seen enough performances and backgrounds to realize he detests lip syncing as he also feels that's cheating an audience. There are times when it simply can't be avoided due to venue or technical reasons, but he does spend hours upon hours getting his techniques and tones as pitch perfect accurate as he can to do them live. He'll even change a studio version if something 'fancy' [vocal acrobatics] can't be done live. Also, I do like the reviewers, even when they've presented negative critiques about various performances (in fact, I've agreed with some of of the bases of those critiques). For instance, I agreed "Screaming" was not one of his top vocal performances in the styles we're familiar with him performing -- but at the same time I would also defend his choice because there were very logical reasons for that song performance [part of business and International marketing, and it was intended to reach a wider audience range of new fans -- with the bridge being simple but extremely addictive for participation from the audience]. Likewise with his performance of "Memory" -- the live version was a bit of a mess, but again there was a reason as he was still working on and trying various arrangements live while he had still been working on the studio track. Sometimes testing pieces live helps show where some arrangements might be best changed. Dimash rarely lip syncs [usually only when a show isn't set up to handle live performances -- such as during one of his younger performances of "Korkemim" on a TV show]. This one was live... In fact, I've only come across 2 videos of him ever lip syncing to old recording tracks (but that's because those shows were never set up for live music performances) and both were when he was much younger. Dimash practices so much, that yes he's able to replicate almost everything done during rehearsals [but there are very subtle differences in phrasings, runs, and techniques -- hard to hear or spot unless you're specifically watching for them. One reason he often replicates the rehearsal versions so closely is because he knows what he wants from each performance, but is often working with new groups or bands each time -- so he rehearses more for them to get their timing and pacing right (and he will adjust if needed when they are off -- as has happened on many occasions) Because of his precision and control -- "he's lip syncing" or "he's using autotune" is often claimed (including by "vocal coaches" who then include "I know it because I can't do that with my voice") -- but again, when you see how much time he spends in rehearsals with each performance group, as well as all his private vocal lessons where he's constantly working on new techniques), then you can see some of the very subtle differences... and one reason for subtle differences is because the adrenaline is flowing much more during a live performance. For Sinful Passion, there's actually a pretty good video that shows some of the differences between the rehearsal version and the live version [there are more differences as well, but this video covers some that should confirm it was live] kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKS4dnp_n5qSebc Also, you wouldn't lip sync to a live orchestra because minor timings and audio issues can happen -- for example the wrong piano notes during a live performance of S)S where Dimash ended up compensating for the wrong notes on the fly -- or during a number of times when his mic stopped working -- or when the recorded chorus came in properly during a break in the song, but the orchestra was late by about a whole 4 beats so Dimash just sustained his note the entire time)... You'll also notice adlib variations and even reversing some high/low notes in some songs... he can fine tune what's needed live through his voice because he has such control with it (and people forget that as wide of a range as the songs sound, they still aren't the limits of his actual range, so he's quite comfortable singing in them -- which is why it often looks like he's not even straining)

@@BillTarling I am with you all the way Bill. What a perfect explanation. I have shared my thoughts about this lipsyncing at least 3 times but viewres/ reactors are still talking about it. It is very insulting on the part of Dimash because a lot of us know how dedicated and how hard he does his practices just to make his songs perfect. Dimash is a very unique young artist with so much talent that I know for sure he is one in a billion who can project his talent to the world.

As many have stated below, Dimash is philosophically opposed to lip-syncing on stage as he believes it is stealing from his fans who pay to see him sing live. This song was also a tribute to the original singer with the band who died some years ago so it would be a very empty tribute if he wasn't actually singing it. I have had many years experience with the music industry and have a pretty well-developed sense for when people are not singing live. To me, this has all the hallmarks of a true live performance - albeit with a bit of delay/reverb added. I consider this to be Dimash's best live performance to date and believe that he will only improve with practice and experience.

I don't care if Dimash is lipsyncing or not, it is his voice. But when I am sure for 100% that this was a live performance (I did my research), I must react on your reaction. I don't understand this. You know what he is capable off. It looks like you don't want to regonize an amazing talent, even when you stand beside him on stage, you will say it. Your behaviour feed haters. That's ashame. I think that Dimash don't deserve that, for the years of hard work to come to this level. He is a true artist, a genius. He is one of a kind! You have seen a lot of Dimash's performances to know how he uses a lot of technique. If you had made the effort to really listen and watching Dimash's performances you never had said kind of weird things like you do now. FYI, Dimash was singing a Kazakh technique, that called "Komeymen aytu", you can hear it from the Turan-group." Look it up and you know it resist. Dimash is changing music to something entirely new. Maybe you don't appreciate this. That's fine by me, but don't assume something you do not know anything about, that sound not very professional. Don't give haters a stage. Thank you!

@@meruyertsmagul197 you must read my comment again. I didn't say that they are haters. I said: "your behaviour feed haters" and "Don't give haters a stage". That's different! I only made a statement that the reactor with his comments, give haters the chance to go on to hate Dimash when they watch this reaction video. There are a lot of people out there who are hating him. They are keep going making silly and hateful comments, we don't need. They are looking for an opportunity to make hateful comments. These reactors are doing lots of reaction videos and they know by now what a comment like this can do with negative people and also giving people a chance to put Dimash under a microscope on every beautiful song he sings. I am sad about that. I want to ask all of you just listen to Dimash and enjoy what he is giving to us, a beautiful and amazing voice that touch your heart, mind and soul. If you don't like his way of singing, that's fine! You can say that, no problem! We have all different taste, thats a good thing. But don't give a reaction like that. That is my opinion.

@smylyface
@smylyface 6 жыл бұрын
The part you didn't think was his voice is actually a traditional Kazakh style of singing. I think this is the song he was taking that part from: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHTJh3WId5WZl9E (Yes, I spent hours searching for it after hearing him sing that because it was so emotionally powerful😂💕) The singer is Lioudmila Khandi and little is known about her but her voice is absolutey haunting. This audio recording is very old, done long before special effects were used. The band playing with Dimash is a famous Kazakh band and they were the original artists who wrote the song. Their lead singer died in a car accident in 2006 and they invited Dimash to perform with them as a tribute. It was not the only song Dimash performed at that event and in the other song he had technical problems involving his microphone that wouldn't happen if the song was prerecorded, so I do believe he is singing live. As for the person who is saying it is impossible to make a "ya" sound without moving your jaw, actually it is possible to do. Just pull your tongue to the back of your throat. In English it may seem awkward but there are several Cyrillic letters that make that very sound so for Dimash it wouldn't be all that unusual. If you watch him when he sings opera, he usually keeps his mouth open pretty wide the majority of the time. He started taking opera lessons at the age of five so he's already got 19 years of classical training under his belt. (That is crazy considering he is only 24) Just think about the sounds people can make from polyphonic singing, tribal chants, throat singing, beat boxing, and ventriloquism... not to mention people like Bobby McFerrin and Michael Winslow... the human voice is pretty incredible. I would never say anything is impossible. 😄💕✌

Music Game News. Igor Krutoy (a man in a white shirt) standing applauds Dimash. This is the most famous producer in Russia. He is well known abroad. He is the organizer of the New wave in Sochi. He personally invited Dimash as a special guest of the event. Dimash performs at the anniversary concert A-Studio (30 years), which was held under the auspices of Igor Krutoy within the New Wave competition. Dimash sang the song of the dead soloist of the Batyrkhan group. It was his tribute to the band and the singer. He inserted a fragment of throat singing, over which he has been working for a long time. Steep got up, because he knew that it was a live singing. After the performance, Krutoy offered to cooperate with Dimash. Representatives of Russian show business are ready for anything, so that Igor Krutoy wrote a song for them. Igor Krutoy himself asked Dimash to work with him. Yesterday, Dimash was already in his studio in Moscow (there are photos and information in the instagram). Krutoy - an international specialist. He is a talented composer, an excellent pianist and the best producer in Russia. With him worked well-known singers - Fabian, Hvorostovsky, Muslim Magomaev, Cho Sumi, Andrea Bocelli, Aida Garifullina, Maria Maksakova ....... And who are you!?

No technology required but human musical skills and abilities. 2nd - the longest note he did (24 sec) that made you think it’s impossible - it is possible with Dimash... he did it easily live many other times... it’s a result of practice... years of practice... especially with swimming! 3rd - it wasn’t his song but he interpreted in his own way... original song was written and released by a band group ‘A-studio’ which invited Dimash as a guest to their 30th anniversary concert! Every guest had to pick one of A-studio’s song so did Dimash

Btw... I wanted to share my view about this performance (this is my own opinion, not necessarily the fact) : he practised this song over and over again to the little details (timing, breathing for the added effect, technique and all) until he reached perfection. That's why the rehearsal and live sounded similar (although if you have good ears for music and singing, you will notice all the subtle differences). This performance was very important for him. He wanted to impress the Russian audience esp. Mr Igor Krutoy (the bald guy giving a standing ovation) the infamous producer and composer. I think he plans to have his career in Russia next (again, just my opinion). This performance is like... "a job interview" I guess. That's why he can't afford mistakes. And I can understand why some people think that this is a lipsync. It is too perfect to be true. But we have had a long discussion about this and this performance, in particular, has been proven live. Just today, he posted in his IG a fresh picture of him meeting Igor in Moscow. This makes me believe more that I might be right after all.

It's interesting to see where some people's thoughts go when they hear Dimash do something they've never heard before. Most are simply amazed but some think he must be cheating somehow, lip synching, autotune or other electronic effects of some sort. You guys have heard a lot of Dimash so you should know better. I actually respect your opinion a lot. But as you said, either it's lip syncing or Dimash's technique is incredible. And, you know what, it's the latter. Dimash would never ever lip sync. It's simply not possible for him. You need to see that Chinese show from January or February this year where Dimash was scheduled to sing a couple of songs. He became quite sick with the flu and was offered not to appear. He said he knew some fans would travel hours just to get there to see him, so that wasn't an option. The host then explained to the audience that Dimash wanted to say something. Dimash told them he would not be singing tonight. The host added that Dimash was coughing so badly back stage he even coughed blood (maybe just some streaks or maybe the host was exaggerating). Then Dimash saw how disappointed the fans were, so he did sing a few lines, but his voice was squeaking and cracking and couldn't reach high notes... It was pathetic. Fans started sobbing and crying and shouted, "No! No! Don't sing! Please, don't sing! It's OK!" That, in a nutshell, is Dimash. He is the real thing. That was one time when he could easily have done lip syncing. He refused to. He would never cheat his fans. So that's why I don't need anyone proving anything to me (although you will find a few videos using all kinds of ways to prove he didn't.) Dimash said he would never lip sync, and I believe him. Having said that, I would like to direct your attention to the new version of Screaming that just came out this morning. You know what you said about he is a diamond so don't lower yourself...? Well, watch this and tell me what you think. I don't even have words any more... Without ruining the surprise element for you, I will say that Dimash never performs the same song the same way twice. The simpler the original tune, the easier it is for him to adapt it or add variations to it. In this version, he has added three cultural elements and one more modern one... (hehehe, keeping it a surprise) link: www.iqiyi.com/v_19rr4ztd4o.html?social_platform=link&p1=2_22_221 /from Dimash USA Fan Club

We have gone through this before... some doubters think that the rehearsal and the LIVE "sounds" the same, BUT : 1. The russians said that they noticed different pronunciations in rehearsal and the live. So it wasn't the same. 2. If you listen closely... there was a reverb effect. You won't have it if it's a playback 3. Watch this analysis by vocal coach emre : kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4Gwi3Wvr5Kge7c He mentions about his mouth and jaw movement to produce certain sounds. Why bother doing it if he only needs to lipsync? Just more food for thought

First of all, thank you. Our fans always grateful people who doing Dimash’s reaction video. Especially when he is with extraordinary talent, but his international popularity and exposure have not kept up. Second, give you an answer, this is definitely a LIVE performance. If you really confused, it's ok, youtube has several technical analysis and scientific proofs video of "sinful passion", I believe you can find and watch them. Third, let's talk about this. fans really can't accept any negative comments ?! I always think, Maybe you guys can't clearly distinguish this is two different things. A. < I don't like Dimash's singing style >, < Maybe he is good, but I don't like it, no reason > B. < I don't think this is LIVE, he can't do it, I don't believe his ability. > - A real fan will only care the second point. We only hope, a singer like Dimash, The world can treat him better. He works so hard, Bring good performances to fans every time. But, because his performance is perfect, Unimaginable, so he can't get the recognition he deserved, and those unwarranted doubt always surround him. How ?! so unfair ! let the fans heartbreak. I think you know it, like this - "This must be lip sync" - "I don't think he can LIVE like this", These wrong messages spread, is the huge impact on a singer. We don't want to see this happen.

9:30 "Look at these indifferent, cold East European faces"...You don't seem to know anything about the venue, and much else either. That's some of the elite of Russian music at the front. The respectable gentleman in the impeccable white shirt, who gave the standing ovation is maestro Igor Krutoy. This gesture of his meant a lot. He claps in the most elegant way. This is not your usual gig where people jump up and down no matter what is performed. The response was more akin to one in a performance of classical music. And then came the beautiful flowers. No one overreacted, because that would be vulgar. Indifferent? Really? They are full of admiration and passion for the work. It's quite strange that you couldn't see that.

Officially New Wave posted who was lip-syncing and who was live - Dimash was live. if you want you can dig up in this. But! Please do not accuse D without evidences. I also had suspicious but dimash had no actual need for this. he himself created this riffs and runs - there was no such things in the original version - he likes to create something unique and complex, but not to the point of been in need for lip-sync. He had enough time to prepare for performance, and it's even not his song (what the point of recording studio?)! Well, i absolutely understand your point - it was very hard and complex part, and he performed it way too perfect) Still i do think that Dimash is capable of it - it wasn't a concert, when he's singing for hours. It was only one song, and he had plenty of time... And, this "shrieking noise" that you mentioned... i don't think it's because of his lack of control - more like effect on purpose.

Dimash did an amazing cover of "Sinful Passion". The original version (by A'STUDIO) was a nice pop/rock ballad [although the A'Studio video makes me wonder why during the lead guitar solo, he's not even playing the guitar - he's just holding it). Dimash, as usual, really turned it into something unique, and gave it a sultry and passionate sensation, bringing the song to new heights, driping with emotion. He also included new jaw dropping vocal acrobatics, reminding listeners that you can never think that you know what to expect. This was an absolutely brilliant performance that made the song feel completely new again. SINFUL PASSION - Original Version by A'Studio kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX-cl3utndOUla8

I actually think that if there's a single place these reactors were spot on is that the song choice was perfect here and it should be his signature song instead of very mediocre and disappointing "Screaming". I remember my older sister being obsessed with the original "... Passion" when it first came out, it is a very good song by itself that Dimash made shine. I hope A-Studio continues to work with him and will write more great material for his album. Also, the fact that he thanks them for "providing correct musical direction" in the outro makes me believe that they helped him a bit to come up with this particular production as well. Praise Dimash (we do all love him) but please don't diss the band along the way, they are a big part of this magical performance and a well respected group here (in Russia).

And, yes, the traditional Throat Singing and the traditional, Arabic call to prayer are exercised by people of those cultures and rarely explored by other cultures. And, yes, we have been spoiled by Chinese audiences openly showing their full appreciation for artists instead of sitting stoically like this crowd did.

to answer to the lipsync doubt... please look at these too : (this was written for those who thought of lipsync because the rehearsal and live were similar (similar, NOT THE SAME)) I suggest you to look at the fancams too and look closely to his movement, his posture, his mouth opening and closing at the exact same time with the notes from the beginning till the end... the way he opens his mouth and jaw for certain notes.... you need to look at everything rather than just thinking "oh he "sounds" the same then it's lipsync" Fancam : kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHSoamydbsplasU kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3OceHqnpK6npNE kzbin.info/www/bejne/embCpKOQoaetqqc Rehearsal : kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3KYd5uErNSEmtk do u see the hollow point in his neck when he goes very high? Do you see his throat moving when he sings? Do you see his tongue vibrating? You can also compare the rehearsal and the official performance. This video is back to back. You can hear the differences. Especially at the end. The LIVE stopped abruptly while in the rehearsal Dimash did some ad libs until the very end. Link : kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4mlmXh4lplld7M P.s. his "war and peace" in his concerts sound the same too. But we all know that his concerts are all LIVE. No lipsync. So he is capable of creating the same sound. Although I dont agree that, for this performance, his rehearsal and live were exactly the same. There are subtle differences. Compare the rehearsal and the LIVE fancams (not the TV version because it's not as clear) Just pay attention closely to TINY details. Look at also the ENG SUB from Vocal Coach Emre Yucelen's reaction. He is talking about the technique... about how he is opening his jaw to produce some sounds, etc (Why doing that if it's a lipsync?)

Tbh Idk if this was live or not, but I do lean towards it being live. The problem I have with this is that his vocal acrobats are legit so it's not unbelievable or impossible to believe that he could do some of the stuff he did in the performance. And other people who reacted to this including singers and vocal coaches never really pointed lip sync out, they simply commented on his technique. His rehearsal proves it although the live and rehearsal sound almost similar. I suggest you guys either check out his acapella videos or the video titled when dimash had fun with his voice.

100% live. He even rehearsed before the show. You need to listen to the rehearsal. It was a live band too. The traditional sound he made is not a delay. Please watch the rehearsal and you will see that he sang live.

All of the negative comments are uncalled for. They had no intention of insulting Dimash, they are clearly fans of his. They appreciate their fans enough to be completely candid in their reactions, It is not easy in this world to be so honest, most just say what you want to hear where is the value in that, no opportunity to learn and grow. Never be afraid to hear what many have taken as negative , but for sure, different opinion of what's going on here, whether they are right or wrong it's clear they appreciate the performance and Dimash's talent. Maybe you guys should lighten up on these two and Dimash, why not appreciate that one way or another he did this, they do. Learn to be tolerant and excepting of different opinions or a different way of sharing one's music. They don't judge him as less if it is lip synced, because he did it to his own amazing vocal performance then or earlier. It might not be but be accepting of different opinion, celebrate the artist if they are wrong and celebrate the artist if they are right. And appreciate the rare honesty these two possess, it's a gift. XO peace

It is not lip singing. Dimash sings only live. There were problems with micro, but he stiil sang great in the second stage.

How many times does Dimash have to PROVE that it is his voice? Over and over again there are mic checks with no back up and you can hear his voice do these amazing acrobatics. This is simply the result of massive talent crossed with articulate training and a passion for a craft. All of the elements that you question in this song are present in many other pieces of his extensive body of work. A little research would show you this. Dimash is probably one of the foremost voices in the world. To doubt based on what your voice can do with your training and practice is to say that you have reached some limit of human expression and quite frankly, that is an immature assessment.

I'm glad you've watched this song one more time from other live show! It's his real voice and traditional Kazach technique, and after - 23 second voice manipulation! All of it makes Dimash really unique singer ever!
