Dimash said it was an accident, hitting the D8. The second time he was moving the mic in and out and you heard nothing, he said his voice failed him there, and he had to adjust to another note and the D8 was the adjusted note he landed on.. He is very honest and up front when something happens. We tend to think he is total perfection but he really is human. Once, during his concert in NY, he was so overly excited to be here, he forgot words to a song he had done many times. He was on his knees, almost crying from joy and said, "I forgot words, but that's ok". I was told he wrote this song at age 17 but others say 19. His father helped him perfect it.

I remember that during the NYC concert. I love the fact he can admit to truth or mistakes. I thought it demonstrated how much of a professional his is and basically a human being! I adore Dimash. He’s such a sweetheart! 😊

I have wondered if in the moment of silence before the D8, his voice failed him or whether he sang something SOO high-pitched humans just can't hear it (possibly even Dimash). I wish we could test the "silent" moment on dogs and dolphins, but playing a recording to them might not be the same as live sound. I don't know why I have this crazy wish, but I would be ecstatic if animals reacted to that silence! 😁😲 🐬🐕💗

mariapena1120 Hi, I also remember him saying that as well. I thought it was so adorable. It was certainly ok! I too was so excited, that people around me must of thought I was a crazy. I couldn’t discipline my self to stay seated at times with all my excitement and my applause for him! My only disappointment is that my husband and I didn’t have seats close enough to him. As I mentioned one time before, next time, I maybe couldn’t purchase tickets right up on stage with him! LOL 😂🤣😝😜😅😂😜😁🤪

Thank you, Leo! The D8 whistle was, at the time he performed this, the highest note every sung in a live performance. He did it so casually, I don't imagine most of the audience realized what they just witnessed; or how privileged they were to see this from the front row.

@@SteveMcCoy. I honestly don't know. Anytime I've seen someone in youtube comments give a name or link to someone they say took a higher note, it's always been a demonstration of a note in isolation, never one from a live performance of an actual song. If another singer has managed it, I've never seen it. But, since the claim often causes dissension in the comments, it's safer to say "at the time" because that hasn't been disputed.

@@Snarky_Tart I understand. I know that from what I've seen there's only been one other person hitting a higher note while being recorded and that was for the Guinness world record demonstration. It was only a pitch or two higher than Dimash. I fully believe he could hit that note or higher seeing as how he held the D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He isn't the type that cares about such things from what I can tell though

@@SteveMcCoy. I suspect you're right that he can, probably has, reached a higher whistle note than the D8. Especially considering that he pulled off the D8 immediately *after* a solid 90 seconds of extreme belting, mixed voice, and transition to soprano. It sure implies that he could go higher, particularly as an isolated note in controlled circumstances. Also, I agree with you that he doesn't have any interest in proving it. He said in his Kazakhstan TV interview that both his lowest note and his highest note are secrets :-).

That was the famous D8 note---one that's off the end of the piano. And yes, he waves the mic to prove his performance is live.

Yes, demonstrating that he's not lip syncing. There have been critics who claimed that he wasn't singing live....It seems to my ears that there is a glissando as he "blows his whistle".

You are right he shakes the mic to show he’s singing live….that was a D8! Two notes above the piano keyboard. 3rd highest note ever sung by a male, but unlike the others who did higher, Dimash did it live! Vocal coaches have said that he is NOT damaging his voice in the way he performs his whistle notes….

@@LeoS Thanks Leo - I have just watched it again - apparently I did in February already!! From a woman's perspective, listening to such an emotionally-charged song of love sung by a man for a woman with so much feeling blows my mind and Dimash does it so beautifully, so exquisitely. As far as I know Dimash has never been in a relationship before yet he instinctively knows where and when to be soft, tender, desperate, yearning, filled with longing.... ☮ ❤️

WE WANT TO SUPPORT THE ARTISTS by seeing their videos so they get paid for their work... During all this "pandemonium" all artists are passing by hard times... no concerts, no live performing programs and live shows, no selling CDs, Mvs, T-shirts, and collective objects and other stuff on the market...nothing!! They only get something by digital platforms, when it happens, and it's a misery... We viewers want to support ALL of them and their co-workers. YT pays bad and is the lowest "return royalties" in the online business. Even if it's one cent for each view, any cent counts. But YT pays something ONLY if we viewers see the entire oficial mv with adds and all TILL THE END. If we skip the adds, YT won't pay back... nothing ... ONLY if that happens YT gives them the credits (switch off the adblocker please). It would be very honorable if you, "tubers" start to inform your public about that. HELP THE ARTISTS PLEASE!! Do a better job and start to show us your respect for the artists, your YT channel lives thanks to them too, by informing how the YT works, and what to do. Early reminder to all Dimash fans: The MTV youtube channel Friday Livestream resumes on June 4. With the effort of fans around the world Dimash has finished #1 in requests in 9 of the past 10 weeks.
