All videos are available on Dimash's official channel. On February 16, Dimash's world tour in Russia and Europe began. I was at his concert in Krasnodar (Russia). And I can say that Dimash is truly a miracle. I waited so long to hear and see him live, and it was worth it. The emotions are incredible. It's been a few days, and I'm still impressed. The concert was amazing and Dimash's voice touched to the core. I will remember this day for the rest of my life. His voice, upbringing and behavior on stage is something incredible. I believe they were singing live. My reasoning is that at the end the three kept going at that last note and even the choir conductor reacted to it, Igor even raised his eyebrow as "keep the melody on".

Но он категорически ничего не говорил, просто ему сложно представить что так гармонично и идеально можно петь, и он знает, что на подобных шоу есть разные варианты исполнения. На эстраде, увы не всегда поют вживую, а некоторые певцы по собственной инициативе часто используют фонограмму. Надеюсь с приходом Димаша на эстраду эта ситуация измениться в лучшую сторону. Также некоторые не могут поверить, что так хорошо можно петь без искусственной обработки. Хотя, если честно, то и с искусственной обработкой никто до Димаша так петь не мог, и сейчас не может. Что касается самого Димаша, то для него хорошо вживую петь не проблема, а удовольствие. В интервью он говорил что любит петь, а не съемки, клипы. Учитель Димаша сказал, что обладая хорошей техникой можно петь долгие годы совершенствуя вокал, сохранив голос.

I have been watching and listening to you for the past year ever since you attempted to sing SOS as Dimash did. You were the best of the several singers that sang SOS and have an excellent voice with great range. I am an 86 year year old classically trained singer and am also impressed with your knowledge of the mechanics of singing. I also have noted you are taken with Dimash as everyone is including me. He has the best range of any male singer that, I have ever heard. However, I have also noted that no one has the courage to critique him for any weaknesses he has. I first heard Dimash two years ago when he sang SOS and I was blown away. However, in my opinion his artistry is often lacking because of his great range. SOS was written in 1978 by Michael Berger as a eulogy to his young friend that died too early and had a great singing voice with great range. It was deliberately written with enough range that the average singer could not sing it. It was a perfect vehicle to show case the voice of Dimash. However, he sings many songs that do not have such a range and that is the problem. In an attempt to show case his range he will often sing these songs three times once in his lower register, once in his middle register and lastly in his upper register. He does not understand that, high notes loose their wonder if they are all in the upper register. The value of a high note is the comparison with the middle range! This is my opinion and I would love to know yours. Jim Kelly

Yes there are lots of fancams of this one. Its beautiful. A special Ice dance and opera score all for Igors tribute tv special for Russia. it looks totally spectacular. Di got his dream to sing with Lara. His idol. He said this in a touching afterparty. where he says it was his dream. and Lara is lovely ,says they will do it again. He gives her a sweet hug. Потом, мне показалось, что Калеб усомнился, что так звучать совершенно идеально в зале НЕ может. А высказал он вот такое свое мнение (записала с автопереводчика): «Так есть один из двух вариантов. Либо они действительно сильно отредактировали прямую трансляцию. Другими словами, удалили звуки дыхания, фоновые шумы, действительно специфическое сжатие, чтобы получить эти голоса полностью такими. Так что это либо действительно высокое качество пост-редактирования, или они предварительно записали его в студии, и они сейчас исполняют живую версию. Это может быть правдой, но я знаю особенно на таких мероприятиях, где у вас есть оркестр и люди катаются на коньках на стадионе, то там очень трудно контролировать звук. И я знаю, иногда организаторы мероприятия еще много чего на самом деле предусматривают для художника, что, слушай, просто петь минусовку, петь, как вы знаете, просто выступать над треком. This concert was at the VTB Ice Arena in Moscow on November 3, 2019. It was not televised on Channel One Russia until January 2. That song was written by the same songwriting team that wrote Olimpico (Ogni Pietra). Igor Krutoy wrote the music and Lilia Vinogradova wrote the lyrics. This song was written at least ten years ago. The male part was was originally sung by Dmitri Hvorostovsky, who died of a brain tumor two years before this concert. Earlier in the concert, however, Lara does a duet with a quasi-holographic image of Dmitri, who appears to be standing on a platform above the orchestra. The video and audio quality on the Channel One Russia broadcast (as released on KZbin in January) was not as good as the video and audio quality on the subsequent KZbin videos (released shortly after the January television broadcast) by Dimash and by Igor Krutoy.

It sounds like they've messed with the levels pretty heavily from the fan cam to this. So much so that I feel kind of detached from the TV version, on the fan cam version Dimash especially is much fuller and louder and in the TV version sounds oddly hollow I feel and almost drowned out. Same for Ulisse. The fan cam I watched for a month and a bit before it came out and it was amazing then saw tv version and it just kind of fell flat. Weird!

Dear Caleb, this was the edition of Igor's 65th birthday celebration in Moscow. Dimash sang solo at least Ogni Pietra and Passione and a duet with Aida to Ulisse and Andrea Bocelli was also there. By the way, there is a new reactor to Dimash named Tina from Rise Academy Of Music from Sydney who after watching SOS said she would like to hear an English version so I told her to use yours. I was amazed at the coincidence.

Dimash never said that, I don't know where people are taking this information from, and he has to use prerecord sometimes, especially in Russia. No need to make a big deal out of it, that's how such events are organized.

This is very silly, he is a great live performer, he doesn't need this kind of defense. People create unrealistic expectations and then are disappointed and angry when they are not met. Great review Caleb. I adore Dimash & love when he sings Baritone. It’s so smooth & rich. This is the first time I’ve seen & heard the official video, only fan cams. They are slightly different but I think they only cleaned up the background audience sound. To me it’s still live.

I know where you are coming from, Caleb, but I have listened to the livestream when this was happening back in November and it is definitely live. Dimash sang more songs and he changed some parts (especially when he sang KNOW - ZNAJ) so you could hear it´s not the studio version. Also you could hear Lara´s voice was a bit delicate - she was ill that time.

Well, if I may ... They are extraordinary singers ! I don't know the lady in white, but she sure has a beautiful voice. Dimash has this range of notes I don't think I ever heard in my life. We can feel Lara's heart vibrating in most of her songs (I live in France) . But do we really need the skating and ... ?

There were a series of Igor Krutoy 65th birthday concerts last year in different countries (I attend New York City). He engaged many of the big stars of the Russian pop music scene to participate with this one being the grandest. It was held in the Moscow Ice Palace, featured ice skating throughout and was the only one to include Garifullina and Fabian, Andrea Bocelli and other classical artists. Garifullina won the opera contest founded by Placido Domingo and, fittingly, she is named after Verdi's opera about an Ethiopian princess named Aida (pronounced eye-ee-duh' ).

Aida is a principal soprano with the Vienna Opera House. Other than Dimash and Lara Fabian, the performers for this event were all luminaries of the classical genre. This included Andrea Bocelli, Anna Netrebko, Brio Sonores and violinist Yuri Bashmet They were accompanied by Olympic and world champion ice skaters. The Russian pop stars weren't included in this one, though some did watch from the audience. Lara Fabian performed 5 songs; because of her illness, Igor Krutoy asked her if she would rather lip sync, but she refused.

I haven't heard this one before, so I can't say that this was live, but "Know" had some unique improvisations and there were some unique details in "Ogni Petra" that I would say that they sang it live. This is the official version of the concert and I am sure that they have cleaned up and edited it for the best result. Direct Russian telecast do use lipsinc as a choice, but this was concert from the start, that is different, in my opinion.

Yeah, I am unsure what they did. It just does sound unusually perfect. But with the calibre of these singers and some great post editing it is possible it is just a really well done live version.

@@CalebColesMusic Yes, you are right. As a sound engineer i can tell you a bit about it in general. keep in mind it could be done in various ways. So one of the times that artists may appear to not be performing live is when they use a performance track, which includes the instruments, backing vocals and hook vocals pre-recorded and playing in the background during a live show. The fact they use in ear monitoring and band is actually playing could most likely state that when they go to perform it, singers have the support of the stacks they recorded. They have the effects on the background vocals. They're singing it on top. It's kind of like karaoke, in a way. When it comes to broadcast shows, like the Grammys and the American Music Awards, and the time schedule is so precise. It's physically not possible to mic an entire band for every segment that comes up. During such performances, the singer's microphone is still on. On the parts they're not confident on or if the performance is physically demanding, the artist will sing quieter, and more of the performance track vocals can be heard. These are some of the examples that can be used. They also maybe times when only some parts are pre recorded. Or completely dubbed and the audience at home is not hearing what the live audience can hear. In the end at broadcast shows I.E. its not the artist choice what will be used or done. And we all know Lara and Dimash are Gods at singing.

Yes, Dimash's Know and Ogni Pietra were definitely live, but I have never been really sure about the others. Fans of Lara say she had a cold that day (and praise her for still singing in this live performance). And she obviously had.. and there's also a video if the day before of Lara, Dimash and Igor chatting in which she says that she'll need stronger medication) Hard to tell... it could be live with a lot of post production, it could e.g. have been pre-recorded due to the setting or due to Lara's sickness (but that would have been spontaneous and they don't even necessarily already had a high-quality studio revording of it if a live performance had been planned... on the other hand, the song is supposed to be on the Igor Krutoy-Dimash collab album anyway hmm so I really hard to tell 🤷‍♀️)

@@mamatrop Thank you so much :) I did really enjoy doing Screaming, I felt very good vocally with that song and really just went with it when I recorded it. I did find SOS a little more challenging in sections because it has a lot of dynamic changes and the range switches drastically quite quickly.
