""S.OS." is the first song Dimash performed in the Chinese I Am Singer Contest in 2017 when he was 22. He was the youngest and only foreign participant among the professional level only contestants. The audience members were knowledgeable about music too. They loved Dimash and were amazed like all of us as he continued to demonstrate his vocal skills and his beautiful voice. He was required to sing covers and did not shrink from doing songs made famous by Lara Fabian, Vitas, Lionel Richie and Queen and later Celine Dion's "All By Myself". Hunan TV broadcast Dimash to 600 million Chinese people and he suddenly had a fan base. He named his fans "dears" and was thrust into the world stage. It was great fun to share these performances with you because you really get Dimash and appreciate his talent, artistry, performance skills and mastery of his incredibly beautiful voice. Everyone's faces show their constant surprise, delight and enthusiasm. The other contestants also liked him personally and admired him as singers. Spellbound is the right word for everyone''s reactions and is still how I feel every time. Thanks so much for genuine appreciative reaction.

This show shot Dimash into overnight star from SOS, the very first episode. He was the youngest contestant ever and the only competitor that wasn’t already famous in China, he was invited as a wildcard, unknown to China. At that time if you weren’t from China, you couldn’t win, the next season that was changed, of course. But I am glad that he “came in second place “, because he was an overnight star, and slowly the rest of the world is hearing about him. He obviously was an audience favorite. Thank you so much for sharing this, his performances are extremely varied, including one where he had completely lost his voice and was told by the Dr, No High Notes. It was between SOS and Opera 2 that Dimash met one of his idols, Jackie Chan.

In fact, it is the same show - "The Singer" - 2017. The audience is the same because they are the jury voting the contestants at the end of each round. Yes. I loved it. Dimash tries out many styles. To my horror, he has even done Rap! I have been a Dear since late 2018 but spend little time on social media. Hard pressed to pick a fav Dimash song.

These are weekly episodes (1-6) of the 2017 ‘Singer’ tv programme - Dimash made it right through to the finals even though he’d only been expected to last a couple of weeks, as a complete unknown in China at that time! Instead, the huge tv audience was charmed.. There are 7 more performances by Dimash on this show (including a gala night at the end), and the next episode was an extra-important one for him; he’d hoped from the start that he might get as far as halfway, when he would be able to show for the first time, his beautiful Kazakh culture to China (and the world!). Please watch his next performance, which is Adai + Daididau (you’ll see why many Dears call him ‘Prince’, and he also plays the Kazakh national instrument, the dombra, in it, along with other students and teachers from his university. He’s so happy at the end!)

Those performances are from The Singer 2017, week after week he performed, got voted by the audience and survived to the finale. You only got up to week 6 here. Week 7 was Daididau, week 8 was Daybreak week 9 was All By Myself, Week 10 was Unforgettable day, Week 11 he didn't compete as he was already in the Semifinales and Week 12 was Confessa & the Diva Dance. You are spot on and very relatable as a reactor and listener. Spellbound describes the mesmerizing effect of Dimash's pure, beautiful voice, his artistry and uniqueness. His accomplishments have only gone up from here. Listen to everything he's performed with Igor Krutoy, a beloved Russian composer and music mogul who came out of retirement to compose for Dimash,'s full vocal range., and especially "Olympico", "Love is Like a Dream", and "Stranger ". "Story of One Sky" is a masterpiece composition by Dimash and vocal expression from his soul. Also know you will love his Almaty Concert, Parts 1-3 from this past September. "Ikanaide" , "Samaltau" and "Sinful Passion" are three of my favorites. "El Amor En Ti" is his new, really beautiful composition and his first in Spanish. You're hearing 20+ years of musical training and thousands of hours of practice in addition to his natural talent. Has a Master's Degree and PhD in composition, classical and pop music. About to start internship in Directing at LA branch of New York Academy of Film. Dimash is an artist on a unique level. New MV called "Together" is debuting on March 22nd followed by a concert in Malaysia, I think in April. He recently met with renowned American composer and movie producer David Foster, which I hope will further expand knowledge of Dimash in America as well as in the rest of the World..
