I love this song - one of my Dimash favourites (there are a few 🤣)! You have talked before about why he isn’t more popular - have you heard that last week he was at an airport in China & was videoed eating a pear 🍐 (all of it, core & all) and by the time he got to Beijing (2 1/2 hours later), the video had been watched by 230 million people!!!🤣🤣

Every Country has daemons of past mistakes - Germany has Hitler, US has Slavery, and the list goes on and on. To pay tribute the way Dimash did/does I find very emotional and respectful! I really believe he does this with all his songs because he is able to transform them into something beautiful even in it's sadness (like Love is like a Dream). Anyway, you guys are becoming a favorite of mine because of the way you tackle the song and the honest opinions you give! Keep it up!

Thanks for your reaction to Dimash,👍to you guy's, he took one week Chinese lesson to sing this song and day break unfortunately for day break the day before he go on the competition he lost his voice they took him to hospital and the doctor told him no more high notes gave him injection on his throat after singing he had terrible pain, how not to sing high notes for him he gave his 100 percent because it's a competition, please compare this to his Bastau concert you will see the big difference.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

hello! je pense au contraire qu'il connais les paroles de ce qu'il interprète. Lorsqu'il apprend une chanson, avant d'en apprendre les paroles, il lui est indispensable d'en avoir la traduction afin de prendre à son compte les émotions qu'il va transmettre au public . Definitely one of my favourite performances. As wonderful as it was he came in 3rd!! The band, Lion, won that round. Dimash said he wasn't happy with his performance and could have done a better job. HOW???!!!????!!!! Love your reactions and look forward to many more.....especially of Dimash!!!

Back story part II: The song was indeed written (and sung) for a biopic made in Japan about Yoshiko Yamaguchi. In an amazing twist of fate - the song made its way back to Hong Kong, whose mega Cantopop star Jacky Cheung covered the song with Cantonese lyrics and it became an instant hit (like, Phil Collin's In the Air Tonight level hit) in Hong Kong, and the song was also featured in the Stephen Chow classic From Beijing with Love. Jacky then sang another version with Mandarin Chinese lyrics (the one that Dimash covered), which went on to have massive success in mainland China as well (this was in the 90s, around the time Hong Kong was returning home to the motherland). In the end, Yamaguchi symbolically found her way back into the hearts of the country that most adored her artistic craft as a singer (her subsequent deportation notwithstanding). Her soul now lives on in a timeless piece of music, in a country she longed for. That's why it was so special for the audience - here's a man from Kazakhstan, speaking virtually no Mandarin, hitting it out of the park with decent pronunciation (in less than a week!!) covering a song that so many of them knew and felt so deeply about.
