Zain, he is the world's best. The lyrics of "Le SOS d'un terrien en détresse" are those of a dying man, his scattered thoughts, aspirations and last-minute desires, except for the very last phrase. Dimash always makes a pause before the last three words (dodo, l'enfant, do, a French lullaby) because they are no longer those or the by now dead man, but rather those of the celestial beings who are to escort him to life everlasting. There would be so many other details to tell you, but I refrain from doing so in order not to make my post excessively long. I see the rainbow flag on your chest. Dimash was a great friend and buddy with Denis Ten. They used to be planning how best to make their country, Kazakhstan, better known in the world. Denis Ten was a figure skater who won an Olympic medal, the only Olympic medal Kazakhstan has ever won. He habitually used his friend Dimash's "Le SOS" as his skating music. Denis Ten was murdered on 19 July 2018.

What a magnificent reaction--And so well-deserved, as this is the most excellent version of "SOS" that I've heard by him (by anyone, of course.) The thing is, his first renditions were mind-blowing, certainly perfection---and now he gets better and better, actually improving on perfection! I love him so for having this voice, for working so hard on it, and for being the wonderful, humble, sweet-natured young man that he is! Think we have all felt that with Dimash. He is 24 in May he will be 25. Lara Fabian sang this song as well. Dimash is about fusing folk and ethnic styles into more modern music. He wants people to know Kazakhstan and his culture. He said what he can do is sing. Not sure that simple statement really reflects what it is he does as an artist but it is his feelings. He is really coming into his own. I have seen so much growth in his music since 2017 and the singer performances. Hard to believe as he was pretty incredible then. Wonderful to hear your feelings and thoughts. 😊

He has the ability to draw you into a song with the emotional impact of a tsunami every single time and he chooses his songs very carefully, especially considering what you are usually confronted with from the TV and radio. As he is singing in about a dozen of languages searching for the lyrics is like a treasure hunt because even thou he transports the feeling perfectly his songs have beautiful lyrics which are meaningfull - something that too isn't very common nowadays. Many of his Dears (that's the name he gave his fans) around the world provided subtitels for his songs so they are not that hard to find anymore.

The song is about person about to die..the last phrase of the song 'sleep child sleep' is from the angels as the person passed on. That's why Dimash put a short pause before singing the last phrase. Well..don't seem to have anyone on this planet sing better then him..so best voice in the world has to be him ;)

I really like the format of your reaction videos. You don't have that annoying habit of pausing to comment. That spoils the whole mood and flow of the performance. Watching your reaction then hearing your opinion at the end is so much better. I have to agree Dimash is in a class of his own. He inorporates so many musical genres and influences into his interpretation and performances of each song. His performance style is heavily influenced by opera and Michael Jackson- especially when singing his more uptempo pop songs. He composes, sings in a dozn languages, dances, raps plays a whole load of instruments. I don't know anyone else who has such an all encompassing talent. I predict that when he finally launches his career in the english speaking world he will become an icon like no other. Dimash has so far shown only a fraction of his talent. He is an innovator and takes popular music to a whole new level. Just imagine some of the people he could work with here and in the states. I am certain he will become THE most successful and influential artist of the first half of the 21st century. I also believe he is a sign of the shift in world politics and culture which is currently dominated by America and the West to a world dominated by China and Eastern culture.

@ZainVenturi I love your Dimash reactions. I wanted to add a bit of info about the song SOS. It was written by (and originally performed by) a young man with cystic fibrosis. He spent a lot of time in hospital, and during those stays would often, I understand, visit the children's ward. I only recently put it together, and had always wondered why it ended with "Sleep, child, sleep." But it makes sense. Children are full of big questions and feelings, and when you add a terminal diagnosis, those questions take on a whole lot more meaning. So while I think he wrote it for himself as well, I do believe he also wrote it for the children he knew were suffering illness and facing death too. He himself brought a lot of attention to the need for organ donors, and died before he himself could receive a lung transplant, very young, I want to say in 2007 or 2011. Fast-forward to Dimash. He performs SOS now at every concert, to honor fellow Qazaq, Denis Ten, a champion ice skater, cultural ambassador, singer, humanitarian...who died (was killed) tragically shortly before they had planned to perform a duet together. Denis' story is nearly as tragic as the songwriter...in any case...this song has come to represent those artists and performers who somehow didn't fit in this world or in their own skin, who left a mark and were gone too soon. very emotional, and while he sings it beautifully...like an entire host of angels...here? More recent performances are enough to shatter you into tiny little pieces. anyway...i thought I would share. Dimash always has a special connection, it seems, to every song he sings. Understanding what it means to him can take the listening experience up a notch. 💞
