Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan. He started singing lessons at 5 years old and was found to have perfect pitch. He is University educated with degrees in classical and opera, another in contemporary music, pop, and jazz was a major in Vogel technique. He also completed a Broadway musical master class. On June 18th, 2020 he completed his masters specializing in composition and received his master's with honors having achieved the maximum score of 100%. He has since started his Ph.D. Dimash is a perfectionist and a workaholic. In interviews on Kazak TV, he stated that he wakes up at 5AM (7 days a week). By 5:30AM he has begun doing 3 hours of vocal exercises (scales, arpeggios, lip bubbles, etc..). That is before he even begins his workday in the studio or at rehearsals for a concert. To improve his lung capacity and breath control, he will either swim laps in a pool for 1 hour uninterrupted or hit the treadmill for a 5k run. Sometimes, he will substitute that for a full-on 90-minute soccer match with his mates and their team. (He has good ball skills as you can see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaXCnaKhhL9_jdk ). He doesn’t drink, either! He will often work 12-14 hour days. He says he hates vacations. Dimash is the real deal when it comes to showing how hard work and dedication will make you succeed! He currently has a vocal range of over 6 octaves but he is humbly dismissive of this astounding fact and stresses that it is not the amount of both arrange you have but in fact what you do with it. He has won many prestigious awards and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He has performed songs in 12 different languages. He speaks fluent Russian and Kazakh, some Chinese and is pretty good in English and Is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a difficult language to learn but he's doing well with it. At 22 he was invited as a wild card to participate in a Chinese singing show for professional singers. The show catapulted him to relative stardom worldwide and he became a pop superstar in China.

The thing with Dimash is when you break so frequently you miss the build up, drop and shock of contrasts. Dropping 3-4 octaves in one note gets lost in your pauses. Please back up before continuing. His songs are complex and full of surprises. This is a mild song by him. Some will make you leave your body

Running full length performances non-stop can create sensory overload for those who aren't familiar with Dimash. Given time, he will learn to appreciate the flow of Dimash's performances. The ebb and flow, build-ups and let downs are a big part of his delivery, and we know where they are. First timers don't know this, but in time, they will. And they will love him even more...

Wonderful isn't he. He has been given the gift of elongated vocal chords which gives him the ability to sing like no one else. Angelina is fantastic and so is another Chinese singer called Zhou Shen who had a tough time growing up and wanting to be a singer because he is so tiny.......but is he talented. This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight. In 2017 Dimash received a wild-card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant of all time (22 years) and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it. In 2017, the year before this 2018 performance he was 22, the youngest and only non Chinese in a TV competition for famous professional singers in China called I am Singer, nothing like AGT it went in for 13 weeks plus a gala show at the end. You needed to be a top professional artist and he was invited as a wildcard and after this one song SOS, was catapulted to stardom with 600 million followers on Weibo and is now a pop superstar in China. He is now also famous in Russia mainly for his neo classical work with Igor Krutoy and many of those works are very operatic. His vocals range from a rich bass baritone through to an extremely high soprano and his whistle register has hit a D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He is on a solo world tour tight now and in his concerts he sings for around 3 hours with an eclectic mix of styles. He is from a very musical family both parents and his sister sing, mother is a soprano. Dimash was offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far, but I suspect world domination will soon come his way. This is the first time Dimash had ever sang on what he called “the adult stage”. He was the youngest and the only non Chinese who was invited to compete in this contest which was amongst known Chinese singers in China in 2017. Dimash had to learn a new song every week and he chose songs of many different languages. Only those who speak French picked up on his pronunciation. His English wasn’t too great when he was 22 but Dimash studies and listens to what others tell him well. SOS, now at age 29, he sings it differently each time at the many, many solo concerts he has held around the world. I’m not sure but I know he’s working on his dissertation for his doctorate degree in music. He’s still having solo concerts and has been spending a lot of time in Los Angeles studying film directing. You won’t find anyone like Dimash. He’s such a talented, appreciative, family oriented, caring, loving, respectful and humble young man who loves music from singers all over the world. On that movie Plavalaguna sings an italian song called "Il Dolce Suono" and enhanced it with what is called now "the Diva Dance". You'll find Dimash doing the same (year 2017 on Chinese competition The Singer). @@billg7531 What do you know about professional singing..? He makes leaps in range yes but it's about how you interpret the music. Listen to the song as in the music. It's euro trash music with song structure that has been done a million times. His technique is awesome but so are so many. Range isn't everything. It's only a small part of singing. Also he is singing into a mic. That is completely different to singing opera for example. He isn't an opera singer so would you compare him to Pavarotti..? He holds no candle to Pavarotti yet he had a bigger range. The problem is with the public is they are musically illiterate. Not as an insult but it's just the truth. Study music for about 10 yrs then you know what you are talking about. Ariadne Grande is an utterly wonder of the world as far as covering it all in contemporary singing. Her voice slithers and slides all over the place and I listen in awe even though I hate 98% of pop music. But the voice is utterly flawless.
