This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer in China). I’ve listened to a few different performances of Dimash singing SOS and the translation is always different. This translation was not the best, but Dimash’s singing and stage presence is always excellent!

Honestly, I could listen to him without translation. He’s emotion and tone carry the song. Lyrics are secondary. He could be selling Toyotas with his lyrics and it’d still be a dreamy jaw-dropping song!

Dimash Kudaibergen a.k.a “DiMash” was born on 24th May 1994 in Aktobe which is located in the west part of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Dimash's first appearance on stage as a performer was at the age of two in a minor role in a local theater production. He began acting at a young age. At home, he became interested in musical instruments; and his parents and his music teacher noticed that he had absolute pitch. Dimash is well-recognized for his wide vocal range, spanning seven octaves and seven semitones, from Si0 to Re8 . According to various sources, he has been heard live (Stranger) hitting a C2 and D8 (Unforgettable Day). His whistle register can hit notes in the eight octaves. Dimash sings in multiple musical genres. At the age of five, he began taking piano and singing lessons at the children's studio of the Zhubanov Music College, where he would later attend university accompanied by his grandmother Miua. He has expressed gratitude to his early teachers and to his grandmother, who took him to his lessons every day despite the pain in his legs. Dimash first sang on stage the same year, at the age of five. He later attended Gymnasium No. 32 in Aktobe. Dimash completed a Broadway Musical master class in 2009. He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English, and is studying Mandarin. He has performed songs in 16 languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Japanese, Armenian, Arabic and Cantonese.

Dimash is the hardest, and humblest human bein! I have followed him since about 2019, and am ALWAYS AMAZED at his talent, and how many ways he sings one song. Of the 3 most popular versions of SOS, this version has the purest clean vocals, The Singer 2017 is very nostalgic for fans and filled with passion, and the 2021 Digital Concert version has a Rock vibe with more emphasized lower register and amazing special effects. You're right. A lot of singers can reach up and 'hit' those notes-and then drop off / fall away, but Dimash LIVES up there. He is a true Male Soprano, as well as a Bass/ Baritone, and every type of Tenor! A lot of effort goes into making something this complex look so effortless. Elite level vocal coaching & then Hours of DAILY vocal exercises - for the past ( now ) 25 years! He started aged 5 { and before... } And that's on top a a genetic gift. So the rest of us- that like to call ourselves Singers - can either; lay our heads down on our laptops and sob gently - or wildly ( neither recommended! ) or; BE INSPIRED to also work hard and also strive be the best that we can be! At music or whatever talent we possess. 🥰

Thank you for your professional reaction to the Master. The SOS song is like a business card of Dimash, it was with its performance at the Chinese competition "I am a Singer" in 2017 that his world fame began. Yes, of course, God's gift alone would not be enough to sound like that. We hear vocals perfected by hard work using all possible vocal techniques, and it's normal that the Master uses his entire arsenal to please us. Спасибо за Вашу профессиональную реакцию на Мастера. Песня SOS - как бы визитная карточка Димаша, именно с ее исполнения на китайском конкурсе "Я певец" в 2017 году началась его мировая известность. At the end Dimash is thanking this Slavic Bazaar Competition which he won in 2015, for giving him his big break. Here, he is invited back as a guest artist in 2018. In 2021 he was one of the judges in the competition. He did a few guest performances in 2021 as well and as it was his first performance after coming back from the COVID break, you should have seen the hundred bouquets/gifts he was given at the end of his first performance! So effortless, pure, smooth, clockclear, gentle.. it's not only the range (his range is nothing in this song compered to others he sings) Dimash is a a wimmer for huge lung capasity. Like to hold a tone for up to 30 second.. And the stage precense, the emotions he brings teqnicue.. And on top of that, you will not find a more humble and gentle man like him ❤ Try "Your love", "Adagio", "The show must go on" (Queen) he couldn't speak english at this time. He had to learn the song, lyrics, english in one week in the competition "the singer" in China. He goes to D8, you will hear it in the song he composed when he was 16 "unforgettable day" Great reaction! (You don't need to give feedback it's too much dear) Hugs from Norway 😊

This song is from a 1970's rock opera called Starmania. Many have sung it, but Dimash has made it his own. Nobody has sung it as perfectly! He can sing very deep as well as extremely high. He has a 7.2 octave range, sings all genres of music from Opera (he can sing bass, baritone, tenor & soprano) to pop & everything inbetween. He was offered a place in Astana Opera House in Kazakhstan, but he decided to pursue a neo classic/crossover style, which he is a master at. He slso sings in 14 languages, plays 7 instruments & is a composer too. Music is his life which has made him a once-in-a-lifetime artist. На шоу Певец в Китае 2017 года, где Димаш проявился в музыкальном мире. И в цифровом шоу Димаша 2021 года. Димаш профи до кончиков ногтей. Не случайно в первом выступлении в Китае в первых же словах песни S. O. S, в словах je vis (я живу), je ris (я смеюсь) Димаш произносит последнюю букву s, не произносимую во французском языке,и делает на ней акцент. Его костюм здесь, его волнение, это дань уважения ученика к профессиональным участникам. Посмотрите пожалуйста все его выступления на этом конкурсе в Китае. Он не мальчик в коротких штанишках. Он из них вырос. Это его заявление миру о себе лицом к лицу (vis - a - vis). Эту песню, в отличии от других на этом конкурсе, Димаш готовил не за неделю, а годами. Его уважение к Грегори Ламаршалю. Эта последняя буква S (бесконечность) в слове Жизнь эстафетная палочка. Димаш принял эстафету. Когда он запел, я думаю, многие подумали "Орфей вернулся", а Моцарт и Сальери смеясь взялись за руки. Димаш знает русский язык. Сейчас в Казахстане алфавит меняется с кириллицы на латиницу. И Папа римский не случайно туда ездил. Но это не меняет того, что слово je (я) и славянское жие - жизнь это одно и то же. Я живой, проявленный в этом мире, я живу, я существую, я есть, я пришёл. Послушайте песни Димаша на казахском, как это красиво, как он любит свою Родину и свою семью. Его песни с Игорем Крутым, где важны интонации в каждом слове. Клип Димаша "История одного неба".
