The reason Dimash fans are so unusually dedicated is because Dimash is so unusually talented, creative, kind and humble. I've spent a long, pop music obsessed life but over the past six years have come to learn that Dimash's music and performances are each so unique and so brilliant that I get everything I need by immersing myself in Dimash's music only. All of the most important music of my life has become far less important to me now that Dimash is on my radar.

And I have come to Dimash from the opposite end of the spectrum. I have not been into pop music much. I have only two other singers whose music I really listen to in large quantities and they are no longer producing new songs. And now, about a year ago I discovered Dimash! His music is so unique and beautiful and he is such an honourable human being that I became instantly addicted!

I “found” Dimash at the beginning of the pandemic and have been a Dear ever since. I am a lifelong (I’m 58) music lover (of all genres) and absolutely nobody brought me super fandom prior to Dimash. I am one of millions of Dimash fans! I am 66 years old and I have never admired a certain singer and the ones I did admire were in individual songs from him.. Personally, I will not listen to a singer if there is anything wrong with his personality or his lifestyle! But from the day I met Dimash, the whole world of poetry and music received a different definition, even in the sense of a song.. Every song for me is a world in itself and worth a concert, if only for the particular single song! But first and foremost I connected with Dimash because of his personality after several decades of life and disappointments from talented people in all kinds of fields and occupations I find Dimash to be special in his kind... and the more I learn about the background of his life, his family and his character I really wonder where my admiration and love for this special person will go!!

The Kobyz or kylkobyz is an ancient Turkic bowed string instrument, spread among Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. The Kyrgyz variant is called the kyl-kyyak. The qobyz has two strings made of horsehair. The resonating cavity is usually covered with goat leather. We know that it is very difficult to find a good place to pause for comment during a Dimash performance. Many times he makes awesome transitions between phrasing. So a good tip is to always back up at least 5 seconds when you restart from a pause so that you hear the actual transition. Thanks for reacting to our Dimash. We love watching people discover him.

This song is one of the hardest song( to sing) ever created apart from large vocal range, he uses different vocal techniques, from bel canto to rock. Everything he did is perfect from primo passagio to Portamento to Appoggio to larghetto, absolutely everything. His super head voice is simply incomparable. it's unbelievably hard to master flageolet register like Dimash did, the clearity of his voice in this register is insane. He went from bass to soprano like it's nothing, his vocal flexibility is otherworldly. #thebest

Yes, there are many really good singers out there but not one of them can do all the stuff with their voices that Dimash does within one song. Add to that his stage presence and the entire performance package. Everything he does is set at the highest level! Note that in ALL his performances there is absolutley no arrogance about him. He is down to earth, very humble. He always shows his appreciation to both his audience and his fellow musicians. Yep, his fan base is something. When he performs it’s always dramatic. He is incredibly talented and his range has to be wider than anyone else has on this planet. His whistle notes are ridiculous as well. I think his parents were Opera singers. His foundation comes from that. He could sing almost any genre if he wanted. His control is mind blowing! He is a showman as well. He gives each song the spirit it deserves. He emotes with his voice which makes you feel it. Where some singers just sing. He becomes part of the song. I'd like to suggest that you watch his videos until the very, very end as a lot of times there is something interesting happening or said. In this case he thanked Igor Krutoy for writing this song (he was on the piano) and his Kobyz player. He's always very grateful to his musicians and also his fans.

It is very up close and personal because it is just Dimash in a studio singing in Japanese for the Tokyo Jazz Festival. He was in studio being recorded due to Covid restrictions. Want to feel tears come from absolute beauty? Do his version of Ave Maria. Not the version we all know but one written just for Dimash. It has no lyrics. Just his angelic voice vocalizing. It is one of the most mesmerizing and beautiful things you will hear. Performed the same night he did Stranger.

That instrument is called a Kobyz, an ancient Kazakh stringed instrument, probably the predecessor of all European stringed instruments.

The instrument you mentioned is called kobyz. It’s spread among Kazakhs. The man who is playing the kobys in Dimash’s performance is the best on this instrument and a very good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter and at the stage performance in Stranger. Please react next to Olimpico from his Arnau concert. In this song he sings in Italian. You can find it on Igor Krutoy‘s Channel. He is a famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter . He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills (also Stranger) . This song and this performance is my absolute favourite🥰. I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I have gasping breath all the time. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so demanding and so bossy😱 (I hope it‘s the right word-English is not my native language). There he is such a Beast😳! It’s absolutely stunning. Dimash is just your ordinary, every-day Bariprano... :) Seriously, his ability to easily access his every vocal mode is unique, and truly stunning! He does have a surprising purity of tone in his midrange; idk if he's suppressing some of his overtones to make his transitions seamless, or he just has a pure voice... I'm not a worshipper, but by all accounts he's an outstanding human being as well...

Great reaction. You are correct, there isn't much to say. Dimash becomes the music. When you watch "Ave Maria", from the same show as "Stranger", watch the beginning, before he starts singing. The same thing with "Ikanidai" (sp). Unforgettable Day from Gakku is a must watch, as is "Sinful Passion." I've be listening to Dimash for almost 2 years and I still get goosebumps and shed a tear or two EVERY SINGLE TIME! Enjoy the ride! Thank you.
