Sharon Vaughn wrote lyrics. With this performance he has improved, which I thought he was at his pinnacle, like how do you improve on absolute jaw dropping perfection. But God almighty if this man/boy hasn't increased his range in the low register, created even more crystal clear resonance in his top range, AND THAT LAST NOTE, I HAVE NEVER HEARD THAT SOUND FROM HIM....MORE LASER BEAM, MORE PIERCING, MORE ROCKETING POWER THAN EVER BEFORE. God my biggest dream is to be at his concert some day, whatever it costs, whatever I have to do to be there, I will be there. I've seen all the "Great" singers live....people who I thought and were thought by the world to have the greatest voices, BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN MOVED TO INVOLUNTARY TEARS as I have by Dimash....just the sheer stunning beauty of his voice and the depth of soul emotion completely wrecks me. I thought other singers were exciting and amazing, but now....no disrespect!! They just seem so simple, it's hard for me to listen to anyone else now. AND YOU ARE SO RIGHT!! Sharon Vaughn from the USA wrote the lyrics for this song. She has written for other singers as well. Igor Krutoy and others contributed to this Master piece. Igor Krutoy said no one else could sing this song but Dimash. Dimash did a wonderful job. The choir was excellent as well.

Another great reaction and analysis. Dimash premiered his newest song "Stranger" on August 19, 2021, during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He once again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano and introduced Olzhas Qurmanbeck on the kobyz. It is an amazing performance, one of, if not the best to date, in my humble opinion. Igor Krutoy composed the music, American poetess Sharon Vaughn wrote the lyrics, and Dimitris Kontopoulos (Greece) and Yerlan Bekchurin (Kazakhstan) did the arrangement. Igor Krutoy is quoted as saying that “it was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way.” When Dimash first listened to the melody of "Stranger" he felt that the addition of a kobyz to the musical arrangement would give the song a unique, yet very fitting sound. Thus, the kobyz made its debut at the New Wave Hall at the Sochi Olympic Park, and what a great choice indeed. It is a beautiful sounding instrument that seems to underscore the song’s deep meaning. This wasn’t the first time that Dimash has featured Olzhas Qurmanbeck playing the kobyz. You can also enjoy him in a few of Dimash’s other performances such as Qairan Elim (official music video) and Samaltau (2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival). The Kobyz is a very old, traditional, and sacred instrument in Kazakhstan. The kobyz or kyl kobyz is the most ancient bowed instrument on earth, widespread among the Turks, Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. It became the basis for most of today’s bowed instruments around the world, including European instruments such as violin, viola, cello, and contrabass. The Kyrgyz variant is called kyl-kayak. The instrument is carved from a single piece of wood (typically apricot) or juniper (arsha), maple, pine tree, or birch. The instrument consists of three parts: head (bas), middle (base is keude), and lower part (ayak) and usually measures 60-70 cm. It has two strings made from horsetail hair; one to provide melody and the other resonance. The bow is shaped like an archer’s bow, and its string is tied to both ends of the bent branch and affixed with strong threads of camel wool. The New Wave Music competition started in 2002, and for nearly two decades now has been one of the most iconic music events in Russia and other parts of the world. It is an international contest for young performers of popular music. It was founded by Russian composer, performer, and music producer Igor Krutoy (seen here playing the piano) and Latvian pianist and composer Raimonds Pauls. Russian superstar Alla Pugacheva eventually joined as one of the show’s organizers. The contest usually lasts for six days: 3 contest days, 2 special event days, and the final day when the contest's results are announced and a final concert is performed. The television audience of the New Wave music competition numbers more than 200 million people. In 2018, Dimash debuted as a guest performer, performing his now legendary rendition of “Sinful Passion”. This year (2021) Dimash took part as a guest performer, as well as a judge. The oriental 'yodeling' he used in his performance of HELLO is called 'Ululation wavering, a high-pitched vocal sound resembling a howl with a trilling quality. Ululation is used during communal ritual events (like weddings )to express emotions. It is practiced in the Middle East; North Africa; Central to South Asia; India and Sri Lanka. 'There are Stars, Super Stars and then there is DIMASH standing tall above them all.' The whole production was superb and of course, the superb acting of DIMASH told the story beautifully. The qobyz has two strings made of horsehair. The resonating cavity is usually covered with goat leather. Traditionally kobyzes were sacred instruments, owned by shamans and bakses (traditional spiritual medics). According to legends, the kobyz and its music could banish evil spirits, sicknesses and death.

The instrument is a Kobyz, although in Kazakhstan it is spelled Qobyz. Igor composed the music and Sharon Vaughn wrote the lyrics. Dimash WAS registered as a Tenor but he can do everything. The end was 20 seconds. 🎶👱‍♀️👗👠👠💓
